Prank messages on BBC Berks

by SpaceCruiser » 26 Sep 2007 10:02

This is getting ridiculous.

Last night I got a text from my mother asking me if I was "Spacey from Exeter" and that there was message to BBC Berks saying that "Spacey from Exeter" was a Liverpool fan but would cheer for Reading. I'd like to point out (and I'm sure quite a few on here would know this) that this was not me and would never be me since I am deaf and do not listen to radio. I had to reply to the text from my mother explaining that it was somebody playing a silly prank and she asked why would anyone want to do that? That's a good question. When will the pranksters grow up?

What was the message you sent that didn't get read out?

It might seem a bit amusing, but when it's your mother asking you if that was you, it doesn't seem funny anymore.

The message also said that you would be at home beating your Rumblestix. Unless Rumblestix is the name of your latest canine friend I would say this proves the message to be the genuine article.

Why did you mother suspect that Spacey from Exeter was you - you can't be the only exeter based reading supporter (and clearly she know you wouldn't cheer on liverpool)

Why? I would find it very amusing if my mum asked me something similar. Lighten up. I suspect there will now be quite a few Spacey's texting in on Saturday.

I won't be one of them.

Write and ask BBCRB not to read out any more texts supposedly from you - I'm sure in the circumstances they would be happy to oblige.

There, easy.

Spacey-My mate Christopher Bennett lives in Exeter and supports Reading. Perhaps the two of you could meet up and share traveling expenses for your 3 home games a season?

I suggest you send a text in asking them to ignore your texts.... If they do as you say they will ignore that text and read any future ones out.

Grow up? That's a bit rich, given some of your antics/comments on this board!

Anyway, is Spacey copyright or something? You'd only really have a something to beef about if they were using your real name and even then there would be little you could do about it.

Lighten up!
