Who are the 3 saying no, and why do you support him when he has been terrible for us?

I'd sack him on the proviso that it Mourinho or Scolari to succeed him. I would not sack him untill the end of the campaign though.

The day we rely on other teams is the day we are a second rate football nation - he should go.

Why sack him now?

The FA will wait until the end of the campaign, if we go through he'll be ok.

If not, he'll go.

Bit obvious, but a bit premature.

My personal opinion is that the name of the manager is considerably less than half of the problem.

He should stay to try and see out the mess he's put us in.

IF we qualify I guess he should stay to see that through. Whatever happens there though I'd give him the bullet after the tournament.

He's proven that he's not up to the job and we still need the fresh approach that was needed when Sven was booted out.

The poor results away to Isreal, Croatia and Macedonia will come back to haunt him. I'm sure he will be given until the end of the campaign, however I think the squad should take collective blame for their poor showing in the event of us not qualifying.

If we do, then this result will all be forgotton as that is the fickle nature of the game, and if we don;t then I have no doubt that he will go.

I do not like MClaren, but I would rather see us at Euro 08, than not see with that in mind I hope he doesn;t get the sack and he takes us through to the final tournament.

Does anyone know of any managers who are doing well with their traditionally under-achieving clubs in the Premiership who might be alright as an international manager?

I'd give him until it certain whether we qualify or not, then for his replacement I'd make their job is conditional on qualification for Euro and World Cups.

He won't walk, but I'd be gutted if he walks away with millions.

Funny how the 5 consecutive 3-0 wins mean f*ck all again now.

I think you have to judge him on the results, given the group we are in and the personnel available to him. England really should qualify from this group and if we don't, then he should go IMO.

Short term loss for long term gain and all that but would you really want us not to qualify and have a summer of heartache?

Shite boss and qualification for every major tournament thank you very much.

For what it's worth don't think we were that bad this evening.

Yes.

He hasn't built a squad or a pattern of play that is breeding a successful side.

He stumbled upon the reasonably successful Barry & Gerrard combination in midfield when his only other option was Carrick and if he'd not been forced into it by injuries I'm sure we'd still have Beckham and Neville down the right too.

He's wasted friendlies, been totally inconsistent which his selections and comments and made some very odd decisions.

Apart from some half decent performances, maybe flattering results, against sides we should beat with some ease I've seen nothing from MacLaren to suggest he's got a grip on the job and is moving us forward.

There's no other capable Englishmen of doing the job. Should have been Allerdyce, but we all know why he didn't get the job (I hope his son's happy).

Mourinho should be offered the world to manage England. Is a massive shame Wenger seems set to stay at Arsenal now.

He shouldn't go yet. But he has to go regardless of if we qualify. Maybe not if we win it, but we know it would be 1/4 finals at best. He's not an international manager, he's is not good enough to manage England. The FA shot themselves in the foot by trying to appoint a Brit, then clearly after thinking none of them were good enough, panicked and fcuked up with Scolari.

From now until this campaign comes to an end Barwick should ringing every top manager in Europe offering the job, it undermines McClaren, but again, he's never was and never will be an international manger.

The real shame is the people who deserve the sack the most, the international committee, will get away with the problems they have created. McClaren should never have got the job.
