The type of players we need are:

GK
Fast CB
LB

CM
Winger (prefferably right)

Striker

These are the positions that need improving with players that arent too old or too young.

I think that Kightly and Gera would be great signings. Also Nugent and Mullins.

Sorensen would be a great signing to.

Im not too sure on Buzsaky and Shittu tho.

In no particular order...

ST - Ameobi - not sure if we need another forward but he is so different from what we have at the moment it would be worth a go.

GK - Steve Harper - for me almost as safe as Given, much better than what we have at the moment.

DC - Primus - still quality

RW - Routledge - experience at this level just needs the right coach.

MC - Gary Speed for have a season

That bloke who scored that beautiful goal against us for River Plate would be a good signing as well. I forgot his name though.

Has anyone noticed the absence of Gilberto from the Arsenal side this season? A highly experienced player with a few years left in him, yet.
Can take good penalties and bosses the midfield when he is on the park.

Might be a good loan for the 2nd half of the season.

Good list Top flight although if you mention a Cardiff player I would go for Joe Ledley instead of Flood...particularly as the latter has been loaned out as he could not get in their team.

-Mikel Arteta
-Juninho (Lyon player)

I'm assuming they were tongue-in-cheek suggestions, otherwise I suggest you need a reality check.

Who else is good enough to replace Sidwell?

I wasn't questioning who is good enough to replace Sidwell. I was questioning whether those were tonge-in-cheek suggestions in terms of realism.

Just remember we are talking about Reading here.

They were tongue in cheek suggestions. After that I put a more realistic list of Championship prospects together. Although no one from that list really stands out.

There is not a club in England that would let Arteta go if they had him. Personally I think if there is a player as good as Sidwell who is available in January, then he probably wont come to Reading. We will sign someone who has the potential to become as good as Sidwell but not the finished product.

Personally I would still like to see Tom Huddlestone join us. Not an attacking midfielder as such but he would certainly improve the defensive qualities of our midfield that have been severely lacking this season. He is also a realistic target due to his lack of games for Spurs and due to the amount of central midfielders that SPurs have on their books.
