Top Flight Huddlestone isn't really a realistic target is he.
There are a few clubs who go after him if he became available.
Derby would be straight after him for a start.
Then you got Boro, Brum, Fulham, Sunderland, Bolton who would all likely be after him with more chance of getting him than us.
I'm sure teams like Celtic & Rangers would also be interested in a lad like Huddlestone.
I doubt we could realistically even get Huddlestone to sign for us permanently. If you asked Huddlestone if he'd be prepared to join Reading he would probably laugh in your face!

-Tim Cahill
-Mikel Arteta
-Juninho (Lyon player)
I'm assuming they were tongue-in-cheek suggestions, otherwise I suggest you need a reality check.
Who else is good enough to replace Sidwell?
I wasn't questioning who is good enough to replace Sidwell. I was questioning whether those were tonge-in-cheek suggestions in terms of realism.
Just remember we are talking about Reading here.
They were tongue in cheek suggestions. After that I put a more realistic list of Championship prospects together. Although no one from that list really stands out.
Personally I would still like to see Tom Huddlestone join us. Not an attacking midfielder as such but he would certainly improve the defensive qualities of our midfield that have been severely lacking this season. He is also a realistic target due to his lack of games for Spurs and due to the amount of central midfielders that SPurs have on their books.

I don't agree. For a start how do you know all those clubs you mention would be after a central midfielder? He isn't getting games at Spurs, whereas he would with us. We can match Birmingham, Fulham, Sunderland, Bolton, Boro and Derby. So yes he is a realistic target. If he isn't then you are basically saying that no reserve player in the Premiership is a realistic target for us.

I'm not basically saying that at all.........
Some Prem reserve players are higher profile than others. Such as Steven Sidwell, Tom Huddlestone. Scott Parker when he was at Chelsea.
Louis Saha, Shaun Wright-Philiips, Jermaine Pennant.
We are not realistically in the market for any of those sorts of players are we.
Now the pompey lad Mendez. He might be a more realistic target if he is now out of favour at Pompey!
