Huntley & Palmer I was quite interested to read today that we have the second smallest average squad height in the Premiership, only Sunderland are shorter. USA is also our tallest player!!!

I always find those stats interesting but confusing!
It's clear we have a pretty small side - Pompey were absolute giants ...
But who do they include in the stats ? For example Aaron Brown and Peter Mate are both very big, but neither are realistically part of our first team squad.
If our starting 11 includes Murty, Shorey, Rosenior, Convey, Hunt and Lita then we certainly count as a midgets. With Ivar as one of the shortest centre backs around it further reduces the average....

It says squad, so I presume it's the listed squad with the Premier League. Pompey are only the 6th tallest, with Liverpool 1st.

Can't imagine which player makes all the difference there....

Very true but he isn't even the tallest in the Premier League, Zat Knight is the same height and Isaksson at Citeh is 1cm taller.

One word - no.
No matter what you say about Marcus he is still better than Fed. Marcus has been very poor this season but our current state is not down to him alone. I do agree that we need a change in goal but Federici is not the man to fill the space, he's just one of the limited options we have right now.

Fed isn't good enough IMO, How promising is Anderson?

This bit had me laughing:

"Rosenior may continue in the role, but Coppell also has the option of using Henry or asking left-winger Bobby Convey, who has recovered from a thigh injury, to make his comeback on the other flank.

Royals’ boss said: “He’s (Convey) in contention for sure but he needs a run of game and a run of training, but he’ll be there or thereabouts."

Obviously these verbal mannerisms are contagious.

EDIT - seems I think on the same lines at the Platypuss

Scarface Anyone that went to Blackburn and witnessed Fae's lack of effort would not select him for Saturday. What a waste money.

Yep not played for most the season last year, moves to a new club and isn't given a run in the team, you'd expect him to fit straight in wouldn't you!

Give the guy a break, Sonko and Bobby weren't overnight success's either but have turned out well. He is infinitely better than Gunnar who has been awful all season.

Gunner puts in some effort. Harper and Fae in the middle is laughable, both of them are powder puffs.

I think the only question for starting line up is in CM...

Marcus
Murty
Ivar
Sonks
Shorey
Rosenior
Harper
?????
Hunt
Kitson
Doyle

Fully expect this line up, if it is to be this, will it be Gunnar starting the middle or Fae? Would like to see Roesnior moved to RB and Henry playing on the right but don't think we'll see that. Hopefully Convey will get a good 30 mins on the park too.

Read that he's been sick but might well be fit to play? Time will tell I guess. An enforced change like that might be what we need, you never know.

Gunnar has been crap in each game he has played, he seems fine coming off the bench but just doesn't have the awareness for 90 minutes.

Fae is never going to rediscover the form that attracted us to him if he isn't played. The fact is Fae can play a hell of a lot better than he has been, Gunnar is playing as well as he is able and just isn't good enough for 90 minutes of Prem football!

I agree that Gunnarsson has been poor this season, but what does that mean?

It means that after about 15/20 minutes he seems to switch off and get caught out. Just a personal opinion though. I had high hopes for him to replace Sidwell pre season but he just doesn't seem to have the necessary skills for this level.
