'listamikey0406 there was an American Business man on SSN today who was mega rich and claimed he was in the process of buying an unnamed premiership team which had good prospects. he would not let anything slip on the team but did say it had nothing to do with the 9 premeirship clubs owned in foriegn hands. so that only leaves 11, of whom....
Newcastle wouldnt sell up as MIke Ashley is having too much fun
Wigan wouldnt sell up
Derby are shite
Boro chairman wouldnt let go
Not rich enough for Arsenal's pockets
so in all good prospects, im hoping its the same guy already mentioned within this forum

The Surgeon of Crowthorne Would the hotel be included, though. Isn't it part of the Millenium hotels chain - or is that just a franchise?

Behindu As far as an American is concerned we would be a London club. This isn;t to insult the intelligence of Americans - but the distance is so short as to be immaterial and it's probably quicker to get from LHR to Reading than to almost any London Prem ground.
I've wondered how attractive we are as an investment. It's been the 'bigger' clubs generally that have been the targets and as it stands the potential for boosting revenues at Reading is limited. There isn't the potential for adding extra revenue earning facilities (we have them already) so it would be interesting to see from a commercial point of view how a buyer would see us as an investment, and what the 'value' of the club is seen to be.

Tinrib Disagree about potentially better revenue streams. - We have a stadium expansion that his approved and ready to go. That in itself once complete gives the club approx 40% increase in potential ticket sales week in week out, & we have the globalisation of sport in general on the horizon as the NFL has shown us only this weekend. For an American investor not only is the US market a massive opportunity, but so is China & India, once they fully open up to the rest of the world.

Extending the stadium doesn't give us new revenue streams though, it just expands an existing revenue stream. New revenue streams would be things like hotels (which we already have, and business centres (which we have). I would like to see us expanding our leisure facilities so the site is used as much as possible but there isn;t room.
I'm not convinced the globalisation issue will affect us. Maybe the Big 4 can make money globally but I really don;t think there are millions to be made flogging Royals shirts to the Chinese...
