Who's boasting?

Merely stating that we have scored more than last year, therefore the original posters assertion we are scoring less is incorrect.

Where will the fickle yo-yo of emotions go next........

Stop me if I'm sounding crazy, but what if we beat Arsenal on Monday and then get a point or a win up at City the game after, where will the doom and gloom be then?

If we had beaten Fulham on Saturday, playing the same way but we put two more of our chances away and they missed two of theirs, would we have had this level of pessimism on here this week? Everyone was getting fairly optimistic after the Newcastle win but now many people are sad again, so very very sad.

The majority of people said they'd be happy purely with survival this season, changed your minds already?

It's a funny old game.

The likely hood is very very slim, so that part of you post is a lil pointless.

Granted, it's a slim chance, but there is a chance - Monday night game with a good atmosphere and who knows....we weren't that far short of scalping Chelsea earlier this season, although Arsenal are in a different league right now.

OK, so we'll get battered. Happy now?

Good man.
All we need now is for everyone in Reading to stare at this red and white piece of paper I'm holding, really stare at it and believe that we can beat the gooners. Come on, let yourself go and really try to picture us winning.....

I doubt many people have changed their minds about that objective, just whether or not we will achieve it!

Don't forget the most important bit; you have to say WIN! WIN! WIN! WIN!

It was a bit of a Uri Geller moment, seem to remember him pulling some kind of similar stunt on Fantasy Football before England played Holland. What a clown.

We can beat Arsenal though, I fully believe that, whether we will or not is another matter. You only have to look at this season's results to see that the previous week's result seems to have no bearing on the following game! Beating Arsenal is what seasons are made of, I'd love it if we beat them, I'd love it.....

So we have no chance against Arsenal then? Man U lost home and away to West Ham last season, stranger things have happened.

Just joking.

It will be a major shock if we do, obviously.

Ok, being called clown gets my back up, Uri's used to it you see.

Either way we need to give ourselves the best possible chance and that means swapping a few players around.
Ivar for Doobs (just to see if the old partnership can work again)
Convey for Hunt
Fae for Gunner?
Start Oster, if fit, on the right and stick Doyler back up front?
Who knows, all I know is I'm leaving work early for some beverages before that game.

JM's "the club is available for purchase" comment from many moons ago has more accurate context if you add "for the right price" and is also JM speak for "if you think you can do better for my football club, come on and do it" Seems fair enough to me!

His point has also been that in order to take the club to the next level requires a billionaire - and he's only a semi billionaire.

He's not open to offers from anyone, he's looking to find a mega rich person who can do more than he can (and give him a bit of loose change to buy some more cars with....)
