Behindu But he really doesn;t like footballers..
Do you think he'd be able to communicate with a bunch of prima donnas ?

probably not, but neither can coppell and look what hes done

Given Kitson has gone on record saying he won't play into his thirties, and when he stops playing he'll leave football, I find it doubtful he'll go into punditry let alone management.

when did he say that? :(

Couple of seasons ago maybe. Our Dave isn't too fond of footballers really, and knows how much his body can take.

Only a month or so ago, I think - in a BBCRB interview.

Gordons Cumming I could seriously improve the crap in the Megastore, but they wont let me.
(......not anymore that is........... )

Cheaply made, poor quality goods are the order of the day.

I could give them better products, better variety and more appealing but they work off silly profit margins. They source almost everything direct from manufacturers in the Far East and it's all too generic.
Would love to have a chance to come up with some ideas and try them out. Mayb ethey should have a 'guest corner' where new suppliers could road test ideas...

They've got a guest corner at the bottom of Hurst Way!
There's a bloke there every game selling badges and some good 'Reading's biggest fan' T shirts!!

Marcus has a go in his book about merchandising - says he can't believe the club missed out on the opportunity to sell loads of 'Champions' merchandise at the game against Derby in our record breaking season.

Street vendors were a lot more switched on - we bought a load of decent quality 'Promoted' and 'Champions' Reading merchandise on the streets of Leicester before we were promoted!

They should sell Kitson T-shirts with

"I’m amazed at the s*** football clubs manage to sell to their fans" on them!

A guaranteed best seller

If we did not feed cattle we could grow enough vegetables / pulses / grains / cereals / legumes and fruit to feed the world. Explains why I am a veggie.

Chemicals lead to heavier crops. However, the nutrient value of organic can be 40% higher - so you can eat less.....

cLOLueless.

organic yields are over 30% less than crops that have been treated with pesticides
since the arable land available for farming doesnt increase(without the production of genetically modified foods that can cope with dryer, hotter, wetter conditions), and already barely produces enough food to feed everyone in the world, with pesticides, how would organic food produce enough food to feed a world with double the population as it will have to in 50 years?
pesticides kill pests
without them, insect pests eat the crop, weeds swamp to food crop,
or you end up with crops full of fungal pathogens and their toxins.
and you end up with half the crop you would have had.

and looking at the soil association website
organic doesnt mean no chemicals
they are allowed to use basic, old fashioned chemicals like copper sulphate as a pesticide, which is more dangerous than any commercially available pesticide that has gone through rigorous safety evaluations, and tests on every level of animal from worm to mammal

anyway

kitson
what a god

David Kitson, an intelligent, articulate footballer? he must surely have a career in TV, but I hope it's not for ages yet! Oh and don't cows make more methane than the carbon monoxide made by cars and aren't they both green house gases?

In terms of intelligence and entertainment value:

D Kitson 25 - D Beckham 0

Oh, and that includes the contribution of Mrs Spice.

The one thing football punditry and reporting genuinely lacks is intelligence. Clear, sharp intelligence and perceptive analysis.

Someone like Kitson who is both intelligent and has played the game would be a great addition to football coaching, refereeing or journalism. If he went into management, he'd be a success. And, I'd imagine, his teams would play very good football.

Shame most football is dominated by a "put your caps on the table" mentality. Oh, and numpties who get wound up when intelligence and football are put together.

He watched Arsenal’s teams from under nines to 14s playing against Reading recently. Wanted to see how many foreign kids Arsenal had but found only English boys and excellent technique.

Interesting. If you listen to some on here, Arsenal only fill their ranks with 'foreigners'. This would certainly suggest that the issue isn't with Arsenal but with young English players who get ideas well above their station ...

Wait a second.

Watching the kids teams?

Is that even LEGAL?

Sort of paraphrases what I said about chemicals increase yields.....
If you look at pasture much of it could be used for crops. I agree that hilly terrain may not be suitable.

or desert/marshland

not without genetic modification

(if we did modify we could grow in all of those places though!)

my point was that organic food cant feed the world
as arable land is a constant
and population increases, organic yields couldnt suopport the population as it is now, let alone with a larger world population

plus meat is lovely
also since crops must be rotated, with legumes, and grasses to keep the soil fertile
surely you can accomodate both

Actually, organic yeilds are growing year on year as the techniques develop. Over-reliance on intensive farming methods has dented our knowledge on the reliable growing of unsprayed traditional strains.

Organic farming is also economically favourable for smaller farms, taking business away from the larger conglomerates and actually creating a better financial environment for third world farmers to get aa foothold in the marketplace.

A better all round option.
