Smoking Kills Dancing Doe Oi Oi Saveloy Smoking Kills Dancing Doe As we've seen with Sid this season, truly Premiership class players are very, very hard to replace. We're in trouble at the moment, selling our Premiership quality players is not the way to go.
The fact is if they want to go, they will not give their all to the club. On rare occasions a player will continue to do so, but it doesn't seem Shorey or Lita are preapred to do so.
If they will not give full committment, then it leaves Coppell little choice but to cash in on them, instead of paying them decent wages for another season and a half and then not getting a transfer fee for them
It is frustrating as a supporter, but the clubs hands are tied on this, and this is the reality of having a a successful team. eventually the players will want to test themselves at a bigger club and there is very little we can do to stop them.
A half committed Shorey is still better than anything else we could get though. To be honest same with Lita.
Don't see any point is cashing in, if we've not got an over flowing transfer pot right now, something isn't right.
We would probably get between £8mill-£10mill for the pair of them. It would silly to risk losing that money, plus all the extra we would pay them in wages. Maybe if the club had the same sort of financial backing as Chelsea it would be different, but we don;t and you should know by now Madejski runs it like a business and would not be able to torn down good offers for players whio want to leave. especially
There are too many people on this site eho think just becuase we are in the Premiership, money is no object. Well looking at our record of spending since we have been promoted, I hardly see any evidence to back that view up. We remain cautious in our approach and will probably do so while Mr Mad is Chairman.
It is a shame that it appears inevitable they will go and as a supporter it is hard to let go, but sometimes these tough decisions need to be made
