Hunt. Why?

by 1960 » 09 Dec 2007 11:44

Dodd me all you like, but I can't find it anywhere. Why did Hunt take the penalty? Nicely placed, although I think Reina might have got it if he had gone the right way, as it wasn't that hard. But where were Kitson and Doyle? Did they bottle it?

Hunt was the only one who fancied it.

He raced off to collect the ball and no one challenged him.

Nice to see someone has the bottle.

I would suggest that Hunt put it the way Reina wasn't going. Good pen, 1-0, move on.

I was horrified when I saw him step up.

Whilst everyone was disputing it he ran over got the ball and wasn't letting it go for anyone. I think Doyle tried to take it off him though.

Hunt certainly wanted to take it, but Doyler did try to talk him out of it...

But fair play to the lad, he kept his cool and slotted it nicely away.

About time RFC had someone who can stick a penalty away. Kitson had a good record but stopped all of a sudden.

Hunt tried to take at least other penalty this season (I think it was the one at Portsmouth) but was outranked.

Wasn't Hunt the penalty taker when he was at Brentford? I seem to remember him having a very good record at taking them.

I wanted Kits to take it simply because his record is quite good and I want him to be top scorer again.

Most miffed Doyle is going to claim Shorey's goal. He didn't change the direction, got the barest minimum of a touch and it was going in anyway.

I felt the opposite, Doyle is rubbish at taking penalties so was delighted to see Hunt step up for it.

Ahh as I said above, I was hoping for Kitson.

Was suprised that Kits didn't take it as he is normally brilliant from the spot.

But i have heard from people that Hunt is a penalty specialist so can't be bad.....and he put it away thats the main thing.

Don't Reading have the policy of, whoever calls it, takes it? He tried to take the last one IIRC.

Not the worlds greatest penalty but a darn sight better than our previous efforts!

Can someone tell me please, whats wrong with whacking penalties? You're much more likely to score if you whack it

you're also much more likely to miss the target if you whack it.

Brilliant penalty - I don't think anything really phases Hunt, which makes him such a good penalty taker. Think he should have them from now on.
