I assume the normal transfer window rules do not apply as he is under 18 -otherwise how come we have signed him from another club prior to 1st January. (and OS says he is eligible to play for Academy tonight)

Does anyone know?

Well, the article on the official site makes no mention of any club where he came from, so I would think that he was unattached. Remember, any club can sign an unattached player at any time.

The OS "Steve Shorey is beavering away and doing his very best to recruit the very best."

He is eligible for tonight's FA Youth Cup third round tie away at Northampton.

He would be unable to represent the 1st team until 1st January.

You can sign players outside a window but they cannot play until said window opens hence why nobody tends to bother as they'd be paying wages for a player that can't play.

Ah, I'm sorry I missed that. Well, maybe Sofia released him.

We all dream of a team of Vasilev's
A team of Vasilev's
A team of Vasilev's
Number 1 is Vasilev
Number 2 is Vasilev
etc, etc...

Good news and I like the fact that we have beaten off the competition to sign him. Anyone who chooses Reading over other clubs is alright in my book.

papereyes
Yorkshire Royal I just hope he doesn't dare go out for a beer... or refuse to sign an autograph.. or develop any confidence... or act slightly arrogant.. or celebrate a goal aggressively, cause if he does, he doesn't stand a chance with the muppets who support our club.

I can hardly imagine a bling Bulgarian.

You don't remember Bobby then? He had a pretty bling hair piece!

I'm not sure whether the style was modelled on JM's hair or vice versa!!

I would stress that JM's is not a syrup!

His name is Vasilev
But we like to call him Kev
He's from Bulgaria
So of him you'd better be 'waria'

To the tune of Don't You Want Me by the Human League.
