even Forest Green Rovers got over 2000, which if you ever been to the area, you'll know must be the population of the entire village, plus all their relatives who were visting over Christmas.

Personally, I do. I think if would be a good news story to bring hope to all clubs in desperate straights that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

I'm all for them getting promoted.

I much prefer Oxford slipping further into obscurity than I do Aldershot rising from the ashes.

A cup draw next season would be just luffly too.

Paul Muddell, Chairman of Aldershot Town Supporters Club and Director of the Football Club, sadly passed away after collapsing after the end of Aldershot's game at Woking on Boxing Day. Everyone associated with the Supporters Club and Football Club was devastated to hear of this news.

Paul was a great servant to both the Supporters Club and the Football Club, where he put in many hours of unpaid voluntary work which went far beyond the call of duty, because of his love of the Club. He will be sorely missed by everyone associated with Aldershot Town and our deepest sympathy goes to his family and friends.

They had a minute silence at the Woking v Torquay game last saturday....also Liverpool had one as well I'm told.

Aldershot's win also saw the bigges attendance at the Rec of 4728, highest since the visit of Farnborough on Boxing Day 1999.

Saw none other than Andy Gurney in action yesterday, for Weston at Newport. Just rejoined from Havant and seems to take all their set pieces. Newport, including Jason Bowen, absolutely slaughtered them and 5-0 flattered Weston.

Basingstoke lose 4:3 to Eastleigh and play off position slipping. For what its worth they are in a false position anyway and will finish mid table.
