Lita would't give that up in a hundred years. Must be a mistake as I doubt very much you can assign a squad number to a new player until the squad number is free.

His number at his previous club was 8. look at the photo on the OS... no squad number for him for us as yet as he hasn't officially signed.

Easily explained with a little investigation
