I'd rather have Pearce than Gunnar at CB, but I doubt Coppell will agree with me.

Why on earth would we drop Kitson -- whatever he may or may not have done? Nothing to do with football.

That is the most obvious line up and probably the one Coppell will go with unless Kits does get dropped (considering the Lita business, then Kits needs to be dropped to show consistancy).

Ironically I think it should be Lita who comes in for Kits rather than Long as his style of forward play would cause more of a threat to the lumbering Villa defence.

Coppell loves Kitson - I will be amazed if he gets dropped.

If Gunnar starts at centre back then I'm going to lump lots and lots of money on Villa to win by at least two goals

I love Kitson too and dont want him dropped, but... Coppell is nothing if consistant and dropping him would be the right thing to do (sadly).

If so then i take it Long would start as he has is higher in the pecking order at the momment than Lita.

If that is the case, which it may well be and Coppell doesnt have any long term plans for Lita at the club then it is shop window time for Lita.

Personally I would have Lita over Long any day of the week.

I disagree - Lita was dropped because he got off the team bus at midnight and then drove to Bristol to go out on the lash, not because he got into a bit of bother while he was there.

Kitson will play unless there was some sort of bizarre midweek curfew in place.

Coppell is quoted in today's Post as saying of Pearce that this "might well be his time."

If Doobs doesn't make there is a chance he'll get the nod, although I'd expect Coppell to stick to form and choose experience over youth. He does say he'll probably make his mind up during a quiet moment watching Bonanza though!

There is another quality quote from todays Post regarding Villa's centre back pairing. After saying how Curtis Davis has forged an impressive defensive partnership with Martin Laursen they go on to quote him saying "we haven't managed a clean sheet since I have been in the team. That's my next objective."

They also refer to him as "Curtis" all the way through the piece but I'm sure thats because they got confused with his first and last names, not because they are on close personal terms! Quality journalism from Mr Adam Lee.

After his first game, Davis said, quite bluntly, "I played like a pub player"

I have a feeling he may be their outspoken 'Kitson'.

Here's hoping for some drink drive action.

Indeed his comments about being the most interviewed reserve player in world football were quite funny as well
