Dirk Gently The real reason to be cheerful is that Little Reading, a team that spent the first 135 years of its existence bumbling around the Southern League or the lower leagues - a team whose highlight was winning a cup that no-one else has ever heard of - is currently sitting 13th in the English premier League, 57% of the way through their second season in that league. We have also achieved this whilst also being the most financially secure club of the whole 92.
A few years ago that was beyond the bounds of our wildest imagination, so let's have a reality check on where we really are.
And yes, we may be playing badly, but we have 7 teams lower than us who are playing just as badly and showing no signs whatsoever of improving.
Listen to me - we will not go down this season. I am absolutely, utterly, sure of it. Out of the next 16 matches we will get the 4 wins that will keep us up.
