Wokingham Times says we have agreed a 1.25m fee and he has passed a medical. Plays just off striker or on either wing - similar to Seol (positionally). Has 3 or 4 caps for Malta - hopefully one for the future not a Lita replacement! May be useful on right wing

sotonroyal Looks like he has alot of potential to me. Anyone who thinks otherwise obviously hasn't seen the goal about a minute in

Without trying to sound to sceptical, I remember someone posting a great youtube goal by Emerson Fae before he signed.

What's wrong with Bas Savage - done well at Brighton! So well he's refusing to sign a new contract .... :D

What was that other chap we had with flashy boots around the same time as the great Bas? Can't remember his name - as it Omar Daley? Was good on Championship Manager ..... I'll take my hat.

Omar Daley, the signing that cemented the reputation of the club's SMS service as a bit of a joke. Currently being inconsistant at Bradford City.

Udo Nwoko

by Elm Park » 16 Jan 2008 11:41

Reading are on the verge of completing the signing of Udo Nwoko after the midfielder underwent a medical at the Madejski Stadium.

The Royals are said to be close to agreeing a deal - believed to be in the region of £550,000 plus added incentives - for the Malta international who currently plays for Portuguese club Leixoes.

Nwoko, 23, is thought to have agreed a three-year contract with Reading boss Steve Coppell and Leixoes president Carlos Oliveira has now confirmed that the deal is close to completion.

"The deal is practically closed," Oliveira told Skysports.com.

And Nwoko, who has made three appearances for Malta, has admitted he is looking forward to the prospect of playing in the Premier League.

"I know the Premier League from the television and it would be sensational to play there," Nwoko added.

"I am very excited and Reading is a fighter club which is perfect for my style of play."
