Schards#2 However, you wonder, if those season ticket holders who won't go to a game like this for £20, will still continue to buy a season ticket when it's no longer necessary to guarantee entry for the big games.

This one will. Couldn't make it on Tuesday.

I know plenty of season ticket holders that refuse to attend cup games whlist we refuse to take the competition seriously.

I thought the crowd against Spurs was quite a positive turn out considering the quality of side we were putting out.

Schards#2 JM is a brilliant business man and no fool. He has categorically stated that he won't be proceeding with the extention stating that was a job for any new owner.

Has he?

I genuinely must have missed him come out with this. When was it?

Ditto - I was pleasantly surprised at the numbers.

I can see multiple reasons why people wouldn't turn up - and I know quite a few who didn't bother.

I'm not sure if he "categorically" said it but he certainly made a comment along the lines that stadium expansion would be an issue for a new owner.

I'm not sure that it would rule out JM going ahead with it though, if he's still in charge in 2 or 3 years time and if he thinks its viable.

In 2 -3 years time, there might be clearer evidence to suggest that it is viable and, if so, that's great.

It's my opinion that right now there is not the evidence that it would be necessary within the Premiership and it's a certainty it wouldn't be necessary in any other division.

Only a couple of weeks and we will all know, I think when it is decided by a club announcement this thread should be locked.

On Tuesday, out of the 4 of us that are season ticket holders only 2 of us came, and another friend who isn't a season ticket holder but goes to about 90% of the games also didn't go. If that was duplicated with other groups then I would say selling 18,000 was very good.

Unless there's a new owner within the next few weeks, the answer is already out there for anyone prepared to listen to the current owner.

(it's not 'yes')

Where is 'out there'? A number of people have missed this (including me) and you still haven't provided a link or a recording.

JM went on record a few months back as saying that the extention would be a matter for the new owner.

When and where he said it I have no idea but say it he did.

Fair enough.

Not sure that I'd take that as written in stone that he won't go ahead with it if we have a few more good results though. A bit like Coppell he can be caught up in the emotion of it all at times.

I remember Pardew encouraging supporters at a fans forum to approach JM, or write to him, thanking and congratulating him on the success we were having because it made it a lot easier when he went cap in hand to see him. I think the original plans for the expansion were the result of a similar effect from our success last season.

The point i'm making is that he hasn't really "categorically" ruled anything out.

The pros and cons as far as expansion goes aren't anything i've commented on on this thread simply because the facts needed to come to that decision aren't actually available to us and what we do have knowledge of can frankly be used to promote either viewpoint.

As the 49 pages on this thread clearly demonstrate.

It's a little sad to see the demise of this poster from reasonably respected to abusive laughing stock over the space of a few years.

Agreed.

It's truly sad that it's taken 50 pages to realise what a twat you are making of your self but it's gets more amusing by the day....................

I suspect Vision has taken that on board but as he seems a sensible guy. For those who haven't, don't take my word, take that of the ticket office manager.............WARNING THOSE WHO DON'T WISH TO READ ANYTHING THAT DOES NOT SUPPORT THEIR VIEW LOOK AWAY NOW
