Alan Partridge
royaldownunder Bye bye Lita.

Why would signing a midfielder signal the end of Lita's RFC career?

Exactly. There are plenty of contributing factors already.

Is there ANY indication that he has any experience of playing as a right winger?

Any?

There's an old saying about "when life gives you lemons, make lemonade" I'm wondering if there's any mileage/possibilty in loaning our young promising players to French clubs that we may be doing business with for new more experienced signings. Reading in european feeder club shocker

Coppell confirms an enquiry about Mali international midfielder Jimmy Kebe. He said, "I never think a deal's done until a player's in the room and signing."

Only on loan. People want Cox to start matches and he has been on loan at a League One club.

THere is a thread where some people are saying what a good signing Gary Cahill would be and he is on loan at a Championship club.

Some people are too quick to judge, especially on someone they know nothing about.

I have no idea if the guy will be any good - just passing on the info I have - will wait to see him before I make any comments regarding his ability or our ambition

Another player to come in to our reserves and take 6 months to 'settle'. These aren't the players that will keep Reading up, Interesting that he's Malian, be good to see how he gets on in the ANC.....Oh wait a minute, they didn't want him!!

I hate being this pessimistic honest, I'm losing faith compleely in our transfer policy ove the last 18months. I've seen nothing to change that overall view.

Other teams around us are buying players proven in this division, proven to be good players and will improve thier first 11's. We aren't doing that.

I truly HOPE this lad turns out to be quality and a really good addition, i will gladly eat some humble pie over it, and if and when he's in a Reading shirt I will support him 100% like I do all the other players. However until that happens I am personally remaining very sceptical over this.

Fulham - not signed anyone yet

Boro - not signed anyone yet

Birmingham - not signed anyone yet, although McFadden looks likely. agreed he is proven in this division.

Sunderland - only permanent signing so far is Mvoto - never heard of him and certainly NOT proven in this division

Wigan - only signed Wilson Palacios - not sure I would say he is proven in this division yet.

Bolton - Gretar Steinsson - never heard of him before and NOT proven in this division. Matt Taylor - agreed he is proven in this division.

So of all the teams around us, so far only 1 signing that is proven in this division and 1 further likely signing.

Does anyone else find it strange that we have revealed we have made an enquiry? This is going to alert other clubs and maybe put the price up.

Come on mate keep up. A cursory glance through various threads will tell you that hes clearly rubbish and no-one else will want him. Other clubs are apparently far too busy signing a shed load of proven Premiership players.

Don't bring facts into this discussion man!!!

Oh, plus Bolton have lost the player who has scored about half their league goals this season - it could be argued they are currently weaker than when the window started.

Personally I'm not too bothered about what the other clubs are doing but I do hope that these players we're looking at are better than the ones we've already got.

I have my reservations over them, but if we can pick up better players on the cheap then thats great.

I still worry that our squad is weak and the players we lost last year haven't been replaced with sufficient quality and our season, which was always going to be tough, is faultering as a result.

Tis a fair point about Bolton. I'm sure they will do something about it though.

Do you trust Reading solve their short comings?

Just opinions, mine differs from other people's it's fine.

I will welcome this lad to the club just like everyone else and i hope he does great. I just don't see him adding to our current 11 from the start which is what we need. It's all well and good saying 'he's for the future' Not much good if we go dwon is it!!

We'll see.

Honestly AP, It depends on how you mean resolve.

Do I think we'll do enough in the so that we stay up - yes I do, as I don't think we need to do a lot. Although I don't necessarily think that involves going out and getting many players even of proven Prem standard.

The starting XI needs a bit of a shake up and I think that that could come from within the squad as much as externally.
