Two Cents Worth, Reading, Anyway I am sure your picture speaks volumes of your realisation of how the world works, a 15 year old with a Krusty the clown hair cut.

Huntley & Palmer Care factor = zero

Agreed. I got halfway through the third paragraph before clicking the x in the top right of the page.

LOL @ coming from Warrington, a town so awful that bored teenagers kick a dad to death.

Yup he has hit the nail on the head. Not sure what the answer is, maybe after 3 seasons you get put back into the bottom division to start the climb up again so you dont hang around like a bad smell.

As an employee of Ernst & Young I have always wondered what the 'squabbles at the Christmas party' reminded me of and now, thanks to Mr Flanagan I know.

How stupid of me not to realise it was in fact like English football!

[quote="Vision"]It depends on your mindset of course but i actually think for the most part what we are acheiving says more about glory than fluking a one-off appearence in a cup final.

Everytime our side kicks off and competes against players worth millions more than ours, from clubs worth millions more than ours i think of it as a glorious acheivement. Of course the reality of losing more than you win makes it more difficult to appreciate but in no way dimishes from what we have acheived and continue to acheive.

Rather than ridiculing us perhaps other clubs might want to try and look at how we've managed to do what others can't manage and all on a fraction of their budgets.

I think the writer,as a Bolton fan (the only club to spend less than us last Summer)sees it that they also take on the big boys every week but (possibly because they have been a Premier League side longer than us) they have a go in all competitions regardless of risking Premier status.

Hopefully if we stay up this year then next year we will compete in all competitions and lose the stigma of being that newbie club which disrespects the FA Cup.

i wouldn't quite go the extremes this lad has written about but somewhere in there he has a point. 'What's the point of Reading?' That's nonsense, every football club at the heart of their local community has a huge point. We have no point to him whatsoever because he's from Warrington.

In the same way to us, Bolton Wanderers, whats' the point? Sell their best players off and hire Gary Megson and play in a ground half full every week.

But LOL @ Some of the insults on there, nice work! 8)

However the main things he's made his article about are two quotes (misquotes) to the press. Kitson definitely said he didn't care about the FA Cup this season..tbh he's right Reading have bigger fish to fry this season.

There's certain things at the club I'm not too happy with, everything isn't rosey but this 'What's the point' debate in his article just smacks of a kid with no knowledge of the game or of football clubs.

On the other hand he could be from the Oliver Holt school of 'fishing' which again is sad. It can be bad enough people doing that crap on public boards but making a career out of trying to get a reaction out of people is ridiculously sad and pathetic. He could say 'look it's worked' I'd simply call him a pcunt.

Most bizarre article I've read for ages, as most of his vitriol is equally applicable to Bolton as Reading. OK so they've competed in the early stages of the UEFA cup a few times, so what?

As for the FA cup and who cares more about it, which team had a crowd on 22,000 on Tuesday, and which played in front of 12,000?

To be fair they have won the FA Cup and were one of the founder member clubs of the Football League whereas we have won....The Simod Cup.

And lots of 'professional journalists' do the same thing. A very sad state of affairs. Especially considering one of them got 'Journalist of the year'

I'd sooner people just told me what was going on and not this sensationalist crap that this part of the media portrays.

You forget that we won the Championship with 106 points, a feat that Notlob won't achieve.

Shame the lowest form of Hob Nob debate i.e. personal insults, made it to the Warrington Guardian debate.

It was a poorly written piece that could easily have been countered with some sensible argument - instead some respondents make fools of themselves by referring to '15 yr olds with Krusty the Clown haircuts' and 'nice spots'.

They didn't in their early days of the Premiership though. In fact Allardyce was the one that got the stick that Coppell gets now because he sent completely different sides out in the cup. This year has seen a return to that from Megson.

They may have spent less on transfers than us in the summer although with the amount of undisclosed deals that go through its hard to really tell but their wage bill that included the likes of Anelka and Diouf would dwarf ours.

As you say maybe we will look at the cups differently in the future but i'm not convinced we will and i actually believe that playing the fringe players in our case has resulted in better cup performances than we might have got from our supposed best 11. Although that is of course purely conjecture on my part.

I just get a little bit tired of people that talk about "cup glory" as if its the only indicator of a clubs heart and soul. Its not and in my view performing "giant killing" acts regularly in the League is actually far more to be proud of than producing a good cup run every once in a while.

The pride and indeed the whole point of Reading Football Club is there for all to see most weeks in the Premiership. If they choose not to see it thats their problem.

Michael from Reading Great post - absolutly fantastic, what planet are you on? why don't you bring yourself, and Oliver Holt down to Y25 and express your views loudly there.

Why's that, so the odd few around who don't chose to ignore it can run to a steward for them to be ejected?????
