MOTM....Man United (H)

by higher » 19 Jan 2008 17:05

A better showing shame about united getting into gear late on.Marek got his debut,Cisse did well,USA played his part,Lita lively,Kits possibly impressed Capello at times.
All in all a more joined up Reading than of late and bodes well.Defence better.Other results not too bad.
But who gets your nod for royals MOTM?

Both full-backs did a very creditable job when confronted with Ronaldo, Shorey in particular.

Cisse for me today, but Kitson was outstanding again.

Hope Mr Capello was watching closely.

Voted Cisse, but could probably be given to almost any player in the team today.

Apart from Murty, Shorey, Harper, Convey, Doyle, Lita, Hunt, Matejovsky, Hahnemann, Long and Ingimarsson, perhaps.

Lets re-phrase to starting 11 to begin with.
I only wouldn't give it to Convey or Lita.

Pedantic much?

But no one else stood out, particularly. I just thought it was a funny thing to say.

Maybe not stood out, but all performed extremely capably again the Premiership Champions. Again, with the exceptions. And for that, wouldn't object to any of them being given it.
S'all I'm saying.

Cisse by a country mile.

LOL at anyone giving it to Lita, he cost us the first goal and was the worst player on the park. Everyone else did themselves proud, even if Hunt had an off-day out of position, at least he put it in.

Gree and I personally think Harper and Hahnemann weren't too far behind. Only one minute of madness from USA. I actually found myself thinking "That quality keeper we're looking at has put a boot right up his backside"

Lita and Convey maybe at the bottom of the pile but not by much.

Cisse shone in a game in which everyone played well.

Great games from Cisse, Harper, Kitson and Marcus (yes despite his sticky 5 mins).

Poor games from Convey and Lita, both these players keep getting chances and not delivering.

Decent to good performances from the rest of the team.

But the MOTM was Cisse, you can see his worth now he's playing in a position he's comfortable with.

IMHO

You really ought to get your eye sight tested and get arrested for those mind-bending drugs you are clearly taking. Either that or maybe you are simply a bigot!

There was some *rsehole sat in Y21 constantly slagging off Lita (then strangely quiet when Lita did well). Grey hat, greying beard and glasses. You sir, if you are reading this, are a negative tw*t and you don't know how close you came to having a very heated lecture about the importance of removing your blinkers and supporting the team on the pitch. Perhaps you are the same tw*t who texted BBCRB after the game claiming you are fed up with Lita's diving. Send an old text by mistake did you? Or do you just send the same boring stuff after every game? Just how much diving did Lita indulge in today?

Maybe if Lita had copied Ronaldo's example of falling over whenever he felt he could con the ref (at least Robocop finally woke up to that) we might have had a few deserved free-kicks when he had every right to go to ground after a defender was all over him.

Would the jokers who voted Convey and Harper please care to explain themselves  .

I voted Shorey because I think that Cisse - who had a fine game - will win this poll by a country mile and perhaps deservedly so. Fantastic ball from Shorey to Harper for his near miss towards the very end, how anyone can contemplate us letting Shorey go is beyond me  .

Agreed, but isn't he supposed to be a central midfielder?

He prefers that role, but for most of his career he's been a centre back.

Don't get a boner.

That guy wasn't me, but given that Coppell brought him off and everyone I spoke to at the game wanted him off, along with that bloke, maybe you should take your RTGs off and watch the game for once. He stood still all game, never looked for the ball, threw himself to the floor constantly and then cost us a goal to top it all off. The frustrating thing about him is that he DOES have the ability, he just doesn't have a brain.

Pointless having this poll tbh, Cisse was so far ahead. Don't understand the criticism of Lita (for this game anyway) - he had a decent match. Convey & Doyle were the poorest today - but even they were ok.
