Re: Reading FC on U.S. TV: Highlights only for Bolton (H)

by RoyalChicagoFC » 31 Jan 2008 15:00

Well, as was the case with the reverse fixture, Saturday's home match with Bolton will not screen in the States

Likely opportunities to see match highlights --no guarantees, mind-- are at the following times:
1:00 PM Saturday/halftime of Liverpool-Sunderland on FSC
2:00 PM Saturday/after FT of Liv-Sund
12:00 Noon Sunday/halftime of Fulham-Villa on FSC
1:00 PM Sunday/Super Sunday+ weekly highlights and commentary show on FSC (90 min.)
8:00 PM Sunday/Premier League Review Show on FSC
9:00 PM Sunday/Premier League Review on Setanta US
4:00 PM Monday/Premier League Review on Setanta US
6:00 PM Monday/Premier League Review Show on FSC
1:00 PM Tuesday/Premier League Review Show on FSC

After that, the match away to Everton on Saturday week 9th February is scheduled to screen live on FSC from 10:00 AM Eastern and to repeat same-day from 11:00 PM

No league matches are scheduled for the weekend of 16th/17th February. After that, the home match with Villa has been moved to Sunday 24th February, with kickoff set for 12:30 PM Madejski local time (7:30 AM Eastern U.S.) --and as a stand-alone fixture, it in all likelihood will screen live on Setanta US, but this is unconfirmed (and note that while, on its February schedule, FSC has the match listed as a same-day delayed screening on the Saturday, this is no longer operative with the match having been moved to Sunday)

Nothing known beyond that. The U-21 qualifier between England and the RoI will screen live on FSC next week, as will the England-Switzerland friendly and other fare of the kind

To see all of it listed, please see the first post to this thread

the most important game of our season and it is not on the tube. It better be on sopcast or I am going to be pissed. (And not the British version either).

pape-- What you need? Venue? Someone to watch with? Please advise (and note that Boston Royal is Bostonian in name only these days)

I watched Reading Chelsea in a place called Nevada Springs(?) in MAnhatten. I'll dig out the address but its really rather good. Ate the biggest pizza ever for $13 and met a lurker-nobber.

Re: Reading FC on U.S. TV: Everton (A) LIVE on FSC

by RoyalChicagoFC » 07 Feb 2008 15:38

Very good deal, then.

Right kids, Saturday's match away to Everton is set to go live on FSC from 10:00 AM Eastern and to repeat same-day from 11:00 PM. It is scheduled to repeat in full twice again --on Monday the 11th from 3:00 PM and on Thursday the 14th from 1:00 PM (all times Eastern and on FSC)

Highlights are set to roll on the Premier League Review show first-time from 8:00 PM Eastern on Sunday, and it is scheduled to repeat on Monday from 6:00 PM and on Wednesday from 1:00 PM

Full FA Cup programmmmmme over the weekend of 16th/17th February on FSC, PPV and pay-at-the-pub; full listings in the first post to this thread

Villa next on Sunday 23rd February from 7:30 AM Eastern. Setanta US have not confirmed this yet as a live screening, but it remains a pretty good bet, and confirmation one way or the other should arrive over the coming weekend

Still don't know anything beyond that, but it appears that all five of RFC's March fixtures will be 3:00 kickoffs, and we get three of those live each week and another one or two on delay --so we'll see

For a look at all that we know in a user-friendly day-planner format, please see the first post to this thread

Re: Reading FC on U.S. TV: Villa (H) LIVE on Setanta US

by RoyalChicagoFC » 21 Feb 2008 22:25

BULLETIN: Setana US finally have gotten round to putting Sunday's RFC-Villa match on the schedule, which is where it should have been all along

Kickoff 7:30 AM Eastern on Sunday morning, 4:30 AM Pacific. Match repeats in full from noon on Wednesday.

Highlights on the Super Sunday+ highlights and commentary show on FSC from 1:00 PM on Sunday (90 min.) and on Premier League Review Show on FSC from 8:00 PM on Sunday.

Boro match on Saturday week 1st March will not screen. Listings of highlights shows will be posted here early next week.

Don't know anything about Citeh at home on Saturday the 8th except that it won't be on FSC; we hope Setanta can fit it in and should know more in a few days

Great News! I was just on the Setanta site yesterday and saw that they hadn't changed the programming, leaving a bit miffed. Now I can look forward to getting-up at 515, grabbing my BIG cup of coffee and sitting on the couch for 2 hours. :D

Now if they can just win...

Re: Reading FC on U.S. TV: Highlights only for Boro (A)

by RoyalChicagoFC » 27 Feb 2008 22:53

Right then: Saturday's match away to Boro is not scheduled to screen in the States. Opportunities to see highlights will fall:

--during regular match programming on FSC throughout the weekend
--on the Super Sunday+ highlights and commentary show that runs on FSC for 90 minutes from 1:00 PM
--on the weekly Premier League Review Show that screens first-time on FSC from 8:00 PM Sunday
(all times Eastern)

As of now, the City match on the following Saturday 8th March is not scheduled to screen in the States. It may, however, be added as the U.S. platforms sort out that weekend's schedule, which is currently in a shambles due to fixture rearrangements associated with the FA Cup Sixth Round ties scheduled for the weekend of 8/9 March. So as soon as I learn anything, I'll talk about it here

UPDATE Thursday 28 Feb-- With the Cup situation now sorted, there will be just three (3) Prem games going on Saturday the 8th; RFC-MCFC has been scheduled to screen on both FSC (which now lists it as a same-day delayed screening from 4:30 PM Eastern) and Setanta US (which now lists it as a same-day delayed screening for 2:00 PM). So we're still in limbo, but we're closer to knowing what's up

U.S. platforms have the combined capacity to show three matches simultaneously and do so as a matter of routine at 10:00 AM on Saturdays, so it wouldn't surprise me to see Setanta add this as a live match on its Xtra channel (in lieu of Sunderland-Everton, which is currently listed to screen on Xtra from 10:00 AM Eastern on the Saturday but in fact has been moved to the Sunday). Anyway, it'll be on here same-day, and possibly live; we still await definitive word as to where and when and expect to know soon

Please note that most of the U.S. will move clocks forward by one hour overnite on 8/9 March, so from the perspective of this side, things will happen an hour later than normal beginning on Sunday 9th March and continuing thru the end of Saturday 29th March, at which time the UK and EU make the switch to summer time

As noted previously, the match away to Liverpool on Saturday the 15th is scheduled to screen live on FSC from 11: 00 AM Eastern, and the home match with Birmingham on Saturday the 22nd is set for a same-day delayed screening from 8:00 PM Eastern on FSC.

Nothing is posted beyond that, although the match away to Arsenal on Saturday 19th April has been moved to a 12:45 PM BST kickoff, which means that it is all but certain to screen live here on Setanta US from 7:45 AM Eastern

Hold Your Breath - Reading vs. Mancity LIVE on Setanta Xtra

by PremAddict » 04 Mar 2008 00:30

Was just perusing the site looking to see if Setanta were going to show the ChelskieTV reserves match (good luck) and saw that Setanta have the Reading v. Man City match live on Xtra and same day delay on the regular channel at 10pm EDT. :D

Re: Reading FC on U.S. TV: Highlights only for Boro (A)

by RoyalChicagoFC » 04 Mar 2008 01:43

Yep, and FSC still have it scheduled for SDD from 4:30 Eastern on Saddy.

It's all down to fact that there are just three (3) Prem games on Saturday, each of them going from 3:00 GMT/10:00 AM EST, and there are programming gaps as a result.

I'm gonna wait till late Wednesday/early Thursday, by which time I hope that all parties will have things sorted, to do the week's update.

Oh, and FSC's April schedule is out. The only thing of interest is that Newcastle away on Saturday 5th April is set for a quicky delayed screening right after it ends, from noon Eastern (there's no 5:15 PM kickoff that day), and nuttin' beyond that.

Re: Reading FC on U.S. TV: Citeh (H)...er, read on

by RoyalChicagoFC » 06 Mar 2008 14:02

Right then --as of this writing, Saturday's home match with Manchester City still appears on the schedule of both of the U.S. platforms

Whether or not this actually comes to pass remains to be seen; the confusion is attributable to the fact that there are only three (3) Premier League matches going on Saturday --each of them at 3:00 PM GMT/10:00 AM EST-- due to a combination of the FA Cup Sixth Round and League fixture rearrangements.

Adding to the confusion is the fact we get three live matches on Saturdays at that hour, with an early kickoff at 7:45 PM, a late kickoff at 12:15 PM Eastern and other matches shown on same-day delay --and so there are resultant gaps in the programming schedules for this Saturday. In any event, here's what we are told:

--The match is scheduled to screen LIVE on Setanta Xtra from 10:00 AM EST
--It is scheduled to repeat on Setanta US from 2:30 PM EST and again from 10:00 PM EST
--It also is scheduled to screen on a same-day delayed basis on FSC from 4:30 PM EST

It is currently scheduled for multiple repeat screenings next week on Setanta, and precise dates and times are listed in the first post to this thread

Match highlights are scheduled to screen on FSC's weekly Super Sunday+ highlights and commentary show from 2:00 PM on Sunday and on the weekly Premier League Review show that screens first-time from 8:00 PM on Sunday on FSC

Reminder: Most of the U.S. will move clocks forward by one hour overnite on 8/9 March, so things here will happen an hour later than normal beginning on Sunday 9th March and continuing thru the end of Saturday 29th March, at which time the UK and EU make the switch to summer time

As noted previously, the match away to Liverpool on Saturday the 15th is scheduled to screen live on FSC from 11: 00 AM Eastern. For these listings and others in a handy day-planner format, please see the first post to this thread

Re: Reading FC on U.S. TV: Liverpool (A) LIVE on FSC

by RoyalChicagoFC » 13 Mar 2008 01:27

Not a whole lot of mystery here, folks: Saturday's match away to Liverpool is scheduled to screen live on FSC from 11:00 AM Eastern

Just to remind, the U.S. is on daylight saving time, but the UK and EU have yet to make the switch to summer time --so things over this side happen an hour later than we're accustomed to until our cousins on the other side get with the program overnite Saturday/Sunday the 29th/30th

With FSC showing a lot of international club and country fare these days, there is only one repeat screening of the Liverpool match scheduled --for Monday the 17th from 3:00 PM

Highlights are set to go on FSC's Super Sunday+ weekly highlights and commentary show, which runs for 90 minutes on Sunday from 2:00 PM. Also, the Premier League Review Show screens first-time from 9:00 PM on Sunday, and it is set to repeat from 6:00 PM on Monday and once more from 3:00 PM on Wednesday (times Eastern and on FSC)

The home match with Birmingham on Saturday week remains scheduled for a same-day delayed screening from 8:00 PM Eastern on the 22nd

We haven't learned anything new beyond that. For a look at what we know thru the end of the season and at other upcoming fare of interest --all in a handy day-planner format-- please consult the first post to this thread

Re: Reading FC on U.S. TV: Brum (H) SDD on FSC (8:00 PM EDT)

by RoyalChicagoFC » 19 Mar 2008 15:11

First, a reminder that most of the U.S. moved clocks forward on 9th March, so things over this side will happen an hour later than normal continuing thru the end of Saturday 29th March, at which time the UK and EU make the switch to summer time

Saturday's home match with Birmingham remains set for a same-day delayed screening from 8:00 PM Eastern on FSC; the match kicks off at 11:00 AM Eastern

It is scheduled to repeat once, on Tuesday from 5:00 PM. Match highlights are set to screen on the Super Sunday+ weekly highlights and commentary show that runs on FSC from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Sunday and on the Premier League Review Show, which screens first-time from 9:00 PM on Sunday and repeats from 6:00 PM on Monday and 1:00 PM on Wednesday (times Eastern and on FSC)

Upcoming fixtures
Blackburn at home on Saturday the 29th: Setanta US have added it for a same-day delayed screening from 7:45 PM Eastern

Newcastle away on Saturday 5th April: Originally scheduled for a same-day delayed screening on FSC immediately after the final whistle, FSC have switched it to a live screening from 11:00 AM Eastern (this would appear to be due in part to the rearrangement of some of the day's other Prem fixtures)

Fulham at home on Saturday 12th April: We don't know anything about this one, other than the fact that FSC won't have it unless something changes

Arsenal away on Saturday 19th April: This one has been been moved to a 12:45 PM BST kickoff, which means that it is all but certain to screen live here on Setanta US from 7:45 AM Eastern --although this has not yet been confirmed

Everything beyond that is up in the air. To see all of the above plus other listings of interest in a handy day-planner format, please consult the first post to this thread

Re: Reading FC on U.S. TV: Blackburn (H) SDD on Setanta US

by RoyalChicagoFC » 26 Mar 2008 14:29

First, a reminder that UK/EU summer time begins overnite Saturday/Sunday, so things over this side will happen an hour later than normal until we wake up on Sunday morning --from which point normal time conversions will apply

Highlights from last Saturday's home match with Birmingham are set to repeat once more on the Premier League Review Show on FSC from 1:00 PM Eastern on Wednesday

Next up:
Blackburn at home on Saturday the 29th has been added to the Setanta US schedule for a same-day delayed screening from 7:45 PM Eastern.

That is the one and only scheduled screening of the match in the States, and match highlights may be seen on the Super Sunday+ weekly highlights and commentary show that runs on FSC for 90 minutes from 1:00 PM Eastern on Sunday. Also, the Premier League Review show screens first-time on FSC from 9:00 PM Eastern on Sunday (an hour later than normal), on Monday from 6:00 PM Eastern and on Wednesday from 1:00 AM Eastern/10:00 PM West Coast

After that:
Newcastle away follows on Saturday 5th April and has been switched to a live screening that begins at 10:00 AM Eastern on FSC. This one had been scheduled to screen on delay immediately after the final whistle but got switched to a live screening

Another welcome development: Fulham at home on Saturday the 12th also has been added to the FSC calendar as a live screening set to go from 10:00 AM Eastern

The match away to Arsenal on Saturday 19th April has been moved to a 12:45 PM BST kickoff, which means that it is all but certain to screen live here on Setanta US from 7:45 AM Eastern

Everything beyond that remains up in the air. To see all of the above plus other listings of interest --including upcoming Champions League, UEFA Cup and FA Cup fare-- in a handy day-planner format, please see the first post to this thread

Great stuff as usual Chi. On another topic, and I have been meaning to bring this up for a long time, but at the begining of the season the Premier League Review show had Seol Ki-Hyeon on the intro doing that little kick about while the music plays, passing the ball to Ronaldo, Drogba, Van Persie, etc. He was our 'star' player (according to whoever put together that intro). But soon after he was sold he was replaced by our crest/badge. So the question is, do you think they stick with that next year or replace him with a player? I would like to see Stephen Hunt on it. But he doesn't seem the type that would participate. How about Kitson or Doyle? They seem to feature scorers.

Anyway, it is of little import, but I thought I would see what others thought.

Re: Reading FC on U.S. TV: Newcastle (A) LIVE on FSC

by RoyalChicagoFC » 02 Apr 2008 17:16

The UK and EU joined the States on summer time over the last weekend, so normal time conversions apply once again

Newcastle away is next up on Saturday 5th April and is scheduled for live screening on FSC to begin at 10:00 AM Eastern. It is is scheduled to repeat twice on FSC --first on the same day from 11:00 PM and again from 1:00 PM on Tuesday the 8th

Opportunities to see match highlights will fall first on Sunday when the weekly Super Sunday+ highlights and commentary show screens on FSC at 1:00 PM (it runs 90 minutes). The Premier League Review Show goes from first-time from 8:00 PM on Sunday and is scheduled to repeat on Monday from 6:00 PM and on Wednesday from 5:00 PM (all times Eastern and on FSC)

Fulham at home follows on Saturday the 12th also has been added to the FSC calendar as a live screening set to go from 10:00 AM Eastern, and it is scheduled to repeat same-day from 11:00 PM

The match away to Arsenal on Saturday 19th April has been moved to a 12:45 PM BST kickoff, which means that it is all but certain to screen live here on Setanta US from 7:45 AM Eastern, although this remains unconfirmed

Three matches remain beyond that, and their status is up in the air. Dates, times and opponents:

--Away to Wigan @ 10:00 AM EDT on Saturday 26th April
--Home to Tottenham @ 10:00 AM EDT on Saturday 3rd May
--Derby away @ 10:00 AM EDT on Sunday 11th May (and it's likely that we won't know anything about this one until the Tuesday preceding at the soonest)

And so with that, all of the preceding is viewable in day-planner format in the first post to this thread

Re: Reading FC on U.S. TV: Fulham (H) LIVE on FSC

by RoyalChicagoFC » 09 Apr 2008 17:09

Okay, Fulham at home on Saturday the 12th is up next and appears on the FSC calendar as a live screening set to go from 10:00 AM Eastern. It originally had been scheduled to repeat same-day from 11:00 PM, but FSC have bumped it for a first-time delayed screening of a different match. One repeat screening on FSC has been scheduled for 3:00 AM next Wednesday, which is midnite on the West Coast

In addition to that, Setanta's listings currently indicate that the Fulham match also will screen on a same-day delayed basis from noon Eastern on Setanta US --right after the final whistle goes-- and that it will repeat on Wednesday from noon. It is a well established fact that Setanta are a bunch of imbeciles who cannot be trusted, so take those listings with a grain of salt

With regard to match highlights, the Premier League Review show is set to screen twice on FSC: from 8:00 PM on Sunday and again from 5:00 PM on Monday. FSC's weekly Super Sunday+ highlights and commentary is set to go for 90 minutes from 1:00 PM on Sunday (all times Eastern)

The match away to Arsenal on Saturday 19th April was moved to a 12:45 PM BST kickoff, and it has been added as a live screening on Setanta US from 7:45 AM Eastern (and we can pretty much bank on that). As of now, it is scheduled to repeat from 7:45 PM on the day and again on Monday the 21st from noon (times Eastern and on Setanta US)

We still don't know anything beyond that. To see all of the above plus other listings of interest in a handy day-planner format, please see the first post to this thread

One of the few benefits of being in a relegation scrap. Last year we were the ones either not showing or getting bumped for a match between 15th/16th and 19th.
