Love - Ibrahima - let's hope he gets his form back. Harps - consistent. Lita - misunderstood! I'm also starting to fall for Cisse and AK47.

Hate - Hunt I'm afraid. I think he is one of the main reasons that we are struggling. He is a ball chaser and confuses anyone who has to play alongside him, and now he seems to be the free kick specialist as well. He could have ensured Sunderland's relegation but we didn't let him go. These type of players are 2 a penny in the Championship and that's where he should be.
I almost forgot, Oster - why?

I'm still LOLing at H+Ps effort a year later. Shame I can't read the first post of this thread to know what I wrote (Little/Harper probably).

These days things stay much the same. James Harper, you couldn't tackle a big dinner. You're a girl in a man's game. You'd be great at rugby with your backwards passing. Your biggest contribution to most games is gaying up to the referee. You could score a hat-trick away at Man Utd and I'd still shake with anger at your tiny shin pads, bow-leggedness, and gormless grin. Go get a job directing 747s into their parking bays at Heathrow Airport coz you'd be fukking brilliant at it, unlike the game of football.

I don't think I like any of the players currently being picked for the first team. Kitson at a stretch but stop being such a moaning kunt.

Happy Valentine's Day.

Rawlie19 I can now post on this thread.

Hate: Seol. I can't stand him. Get him out of the club now. I'm not sure he even knows or cares what he's supposed to do on the pitch. Even the great goals he's scored have been flukey  The West Ham away one, what was he doing pissing about with the ball in the first place? Anyway, after tonight I now can't stand the guy. Lazy couldn't care less attitude.

Love: Superman. Always have, always will. The man is a legend and I hope he recovers in time to be effective right from the start next season.

See my advice was taken re Sulky Hun. Superman has slipped a bit, but I stand by him and I'm sure he will recover the form of old. But now my true love is Hunty. Me and the girl who comes to footie with me have loved his style since day 1 when he was just coming on as a bit part late sub. His little tricks then used to delight us and we always knew he had it in him to be a top quality player.

Hate now? ... Not so sure. I dislike Gunnarsson but that's not really fair as he's not lazy or has an attitude but is just limited in talent. I hate Lita's attitude, but think he could be a top quality striker...

Victor Meldrew Love 'em all,the long, the little and the tall.
I'd whittle it down to Kitson,Harper and Little for various reasons if pressed.
The nearest to a hate would be Convey or Hunt but that would only be for things they do in parts of games.

I agree with the original poster that Osborn could do no wrong and yes I think we are all guilty of being RTG about our preferred players.
Some past hates:-
Hughes
Jones
Rougier
Gray
Howie
Gurney
McIntyre
Crawford
Sheppard
Meaker
Morley
McPherson
Bodin
Maskell
Leworthy
Gernon
Elsey
Crown
Williams
Barnes
Barker
That's just the last 30 years and averages only about 2 every 3 seasons.

No change except that Little seems more and more like an ex-player.
Well done Vision for dragging this topic back up again.

I am not sure if I posted on this last year. But my current favorite player is Kalifa Cisse. About the only encouraging thing on our recent run has been his emergence at centre back. He combines the smarts and poise of Ingi with the physical talent of Sonko.

I also like Andre Bikey. His backflip and beating heart celebration earlier in the year was fantastic. And he won't take any guff from any smart-mouthed medical orderlies.

M U R T Y HATE:
Tough one. HUNT. Purelt for the fact that he's stopping Convey getting in the team.

I might be a bit bias (look at photo) but what do you see in Convey? I watch him play and he looks lost. I made a point to watch in the friendly last week vs. Mexico - he did nothing - I have yet to see anything that impresses me about him. Hunt has his flaws too but think over all he is a better player.

Like to see ball on their feet
Harper - covers the full field.
Bikey - best field entrance & body tosser on the team. :)
Matejovsky - brings hope.

Close eyes when they touch the ball -
Oster - might need time from injury to get back to form but not so sure.
USA - never what he might do.

On the fence -
Kitson - he has been the most consistent ST on the team yet he leaves me wanting more.

Love: Doyle, Hunt, Harps, Murts, Kitson

Beginning to love: Cisse, Bikey.

Hate: Wouldn't say I hate him but Gunnarsson is the player I dislike most out of the current squad.

I loved Gilksey.....I remember the roar of anticipation at Wembley whenever he got the ball against Luton in the Simod Cup Final. His penalty at about 10:40pm to beat Coventry in the semi final....
I always used to smile when he played fullback and was nowhere near the player he was supposed to be marking but it didn't matter because in a flash he would get there.

I hated seeing Simon Shepherd in goal because he just looked really nervous and wasn't very good really....sorry Simon. So I suppose he was my hate figure.

Oh alright if I have to..........

Favourite player now would be James Harper. He is a total nut but he is a star in my eyes....clearly loves his football and enjoys a laugh and a joke with refs which makes a refreshing change. When he scores its usually a cracker and I love seeing him make his runs forward(do it more often though James) He has been at the club since the dark days of the old third division and is as someone else has said the heartbeat of the team.

If I have to hate anyone it would be Bryn. He is a good pro but he has been so frustrating to watch and so god damn sloweowwwwww

Cheers.

I suppose I should say my old loves.

I used to love Archie (hence the avatar) but I also loved Jimmy Quinn, Micky Gooding, Scott Taylor, Adie and Gilkesey. Basically the 1994-5 team...

Old hates? Barry Hunter was awful. Also thought Uwe Hartenberger was a bit crap...

Agree totally about Harper. Can't think of any other player (past or present) who so obviously loves being a professional footballer.

As for hates, I don't think I've ever hated a Reading player but...I just don't get John Halls. Why is he still a Reading player?

Yes I liked Archie and was at the Wolves game when he scored twice in injury time. I told my other half(on one of her only two visits to see Reading play) Stuart Lovell had scored both goals. She told me I was wrong(she heard the Archie chants). She has even less interest and knowledge of the club now which I hardly thought could be possible but she puts up with me bless...
I liked Adie Williams as well....
