Just been having a look and according to figures RFC had 435 employees in 2006/7 compared to 136 in 1999/00, was wondering who they are and what they all do?

The staff figures quoted in last years Deloitte survey include those who work at the hotel, for some reason - not sure if that's still the case but that may be part of it. Also there's all those doing the conference centre and matchday hospitality, etc.

Another factor is that there is now a whole load of people at the new training ground where the club has not only state of the art training facilities but an admin block, catering etc etc. The site now even has its own full time manager. In 99/00 there were probably only a handful of people at the training ground then in use and I seem to recall that they were not actually club employees. There is also the new warehouse that deals with mail order sales for the megastore and more people employed on things like car parking catering etc.

I'm sure that the extra 300 or so are employed in the vital function of prodding the pitch with a garden fork. Makes all the difference to the pitch you know...........
