Unfortunately a generous sending off cost the game for Inter. Once they were down to 10 they offered nothing as an attacking force and in a 2 legged game was always going to be damage limitation for them and so after 30 minutes my 10 quid was as good as gone

A Yorkshire punter is believed to have become Britain's first betting shop millionaire after staking 50p on a bet with odds of more than two million to one.
The unnamed customer landed an eight-horse accumulator last night to land the million, which is bookmaker William Hill's limit on horseracing.

The bookmaker says the winner is a regular in its Thirsk betting shop and places similar bets almost daily, although he has never come close to winning on an major scale before.

After staking five small bets at a different shop this morning, the man asked staff to check his betting slip from yesterday.

Graham Sharpe, from William Hill, said: "When they told him he had £1 million to come but would have to collect it from the Thirsk shop, he went visibly pale before saying that he would have to go and tell his wife."
