Coppell Out

by Royalee » 24 Feb 2008 16:07

Sorry, but I've lost all confidence in him - how he can still play Oster after his last two inept performances is a joke and he once again didn't change it early enough. In the close-ups you could see he was a lost man and he honestly doesn't have a clue about how he'd get us out of this. It's all very well Madejski saying he can take us back up, but the fact of the matter is the current squad aren't good enough to take us back up and we'll lose our best players anyway.

Don't agree, he's doing the best he can at the moment with what he's got. Limited ingredients, trying to come up with a black forest gataeu when he can only muster a 99p shop muffin.

He'll leave at the end of the season whether we stay up or not, I reckon. I wish we could find out for certain whether JM made money available for players and if so, exactly how much.

He's the best we've had in years. What difference do you honestly think any other manager would do if hired now? The transfer window's shut, and the new boss would inherit another manager's team. The current squad is based around Coppell's tactics; bringing in new staff would just disrupt things...

Exactly.

Championship Chairman!!

The blame firmly at Madejski's feet.

Except Coppell ADMITTED HIMSELF that he had been fully backed with funds to bring in players and stated publicly that he chose not to sign players in January. If he really wanted to bring players in then why did he go on record the Thursday before the window shut and laud the closure of the window?

Get your head out of the magical bald bottler's backside and admit he's never going to be good enough to manage in the top flight, just like he couldn't went he managed Palace and Man City. It's unfortunate, but that's how it is.

He's about as useful as a Ford Fiesta on bricks, which I'm sure was a regular occurance given where he grew up.

So what big name players did we miss out then who would have happily come to ''little'' Reading on a wage cut, or worse, vastly overpaid compared to the long term players who got us promoted?

Have you seen our wage budget? Has Coppell gone on record lambasted our wage budget? Stop jumping to conclusions and look at the facts for once.

That would be the manager that wasn't good enough to get us to eighth last year then. As for your comment about where he grew up.... what a twat you are.

Burley got Ipswich into Europe on momentum, hell Peter Reid managed it with Sunderland. Doesn't mean Reid isn't a shit manager though, or Bryan Robson and so on.

I find it hard to believe there is one fan out there who is actually AGAINST Steve Coppell. IMHO NO-ONE will ever do for this club what he has managed. I still maintain that as we do not know how much money was available to him, we should not criticise him per se for not signing better quality players. I'm afraid that I lay the blame quite firmly at Mr Mad and his board. Cauldron of Optimism my @rse.

Who the hell mentioned Keegan? He's almost as poor as Coppell. When coming up with your rubbish arguments come up with something intelligent instead of putting words in my mouth.

Yes and he also said we MUST invest in stadia and players and now!! That was December time. He knows we need players and quality players. He has a good relationship with Madejski and he keeps it nice and friendly to the media by standing shoulder to shoulder with him but he hasn't been given the financial freedom he needs nor wants!

Split decision. Many say Coppell's fault, many the chairman's. I'm with the Chairman's!
