Tilehurst Mike Tactics deplorable (Cisse is not a centre back)
yet the consensus as long as one game ago was that Cisse had to play as he looked out best centre-back.

Exactly. It feels like we are banging our heads against a brick wall at the moment. I don't pity Coppell the job he has to do!

I thought Cisse had two fantasic goal saving tackles in the first half, though, he was at fault for the goal. To be honest I thought that brining on Ivar cost us the second goal as both he and Sonko are much to slow to compete against Villa.

Our central midfield was again poor, can Mateyboy and Harper really play in the same midfield? Zero tracking back and no tackles, this dragged both Hunt and Oster into the centre of the park.

Also what does Leroy have to do to get a game?

I still think that Coppell is the only man for the job, but, something has to change!

andrew1957 I find it unbelievable that any so called Reading fan would want Coppell sacked. After what SC has done for the club if we do sack him we will deserve to go down and never see the PL again.

Why ? At least it's proactive, at the moment we're going down with a whimper.

Lets say we lose the next 3, which is more than probable. That will be 11 straight league defeats and with 4 easier games on the horizon I would say Mr Mad would be forced to change something. I can understand why fans would want to be loyal, but we can't just stick with a manager for what he did last season, we need to look at the current plight and do something about it. Coppell has run out of idea's so lets get someone in with a fresh view and the ability to motivate. We all saw it Sunday, even the likes of Kitson aren't bothering to put 100% in now.

Fine, then we accept relegation and get prepared for next year. Look at our current form and patehtic recent home performances. 2 CB's on the bench, at home, the man has the plot.

more of a plot than all of you guys and me for that matter. i'm saying that we're staying up and SC is going nowhere. He's a great manager and he can pull us out of this. Trust him on this even if you do not want to.

Anyone who thinks Coppell should go is a fool..........

He is an excellent manager. He should be revered and highly respected. Coppell is Readings most successful manager ever in the clubs history and he is in charge of the team right now. The spell in charge of the most successful Reading manager should be as long as possible. Coppell has been loyal to this group. He is now gearing up to build his second brilliant Reading team. Every team has a shelf life. Fergie has reinvented United about 4 times now. Wenger has reinvented Arsenal about 3 times. Coppell is now ready to build his second great Reading side.

Give the great one the time and patience that he needs to be able to do it all again. Coppell is the best equipped to do it for us again. I look forward to the outcome!

Give Coppell the respect he deserves. If the fans are questioning him then the players will question him. Coppell should not be questioned in my opinion. He knows what he is doing and he will get it right. Obviously things can't change over night, but panicking creates the situation seen at Newcastle. A club seeming unable to ever improve. We know Coppell has it in him to build a great team. We know he can do it again. Obviously there is little he can do now until the summer. Until then he has to work with what he has and Coppell is clearly a great motivator of men.

Our work ethic and performance was superb against the Villa, unfortunately their were other issues that affected the result. Coppell needs the time to sort it out.

As far as I am concerned now, it has to be time for Spiderman. He deserves his chance. He was our only African to go all the way to the final with his team. He was a great presence for Cameroon in the ACON. Its a shame about his red card but he looked a great defender in the tournament and he was masterful in his defending against Johnson this year and Carew last year. He can deal with strikers that our other centre backs find a real handful.

Our defensive line-up has to include Bikey and even Rosenior should now get a chance. But lets see what happens.

And pulling the trigger now will pretty much seal relegation.

I'll ask this question to any of the Coppell out brigade, who would replace him - who is out there at the moment that would not only a) keep us up but b) take us onward next season?

Incredible that it has come to this from some and they mean it!

I'm so 50/50 with Coppell at the minute. I think personally he's had a wretched season. 2 failed transfer windows, absolutely no bottle to take out some of his mates from the team, subs nearly always too late, some of the team selections and tactics have been thoroughly bewildering.

However

I'm not sure there is anyone out there who could manage these players better, or command the respect that Coppell has from them. Because ultimately for arguements sake Coppell goes tomorrow, whoever coming in has exactly the same players to work with. He can't get anyone else in, so is effectively managing someone elses team, waste of time and it would seal relegation.

So for that Coppell HAS to stay until the end of the season.

When that comes, which league we are in could decide Coppell's future. He won't be pushed, but I just have a gut feeling that if we go down, he won't want another slog in the Championship and would walk.

Which would end an increible tenure as RFC manager where he has earned the tag as the greatest ever. After 5 years or so though it might just be time at the end of the season for a fresh new voice with fresh ideas, who would get new blood into this team.

It might be..

Indeed, all we need to do (and I believe we can) is match both clubs point for point and beat them at home. That will see us stay up.

Every one of Brum's remaining home games are against sides from the top half.

Funny how all the people calling people idiots are the one's who called people idots in the summer for daring to suggest we wouldn't do as well and then spent the 1st half of the season calling anyone who said we were in a relagation battle, idiots.

Do you see the pattern? Call people idiots all you want, we all know who was right this season.

Every manager has a testing period, didn't Ferguson have 13 matches without a win with Manchester United at one point?
