Will Coppell change it?

by Richi Royal » 25 Feb 2008 16:52

Well Coppell has finally openly said that loyalty has to go out of the window and big changes could be forth comming....but we have seen him make statements before and then go aginast what he has said like with the transfer window

So simple question.... will Coppell stick to his word and make significant changes, or will he bottle it and stay loyal to his players

...or will he make minor changes, one or two e.g. lita and ivar comming in.

I suppose this is also a mini test of our faith in what SC says.

The problem SC has is that different players are performing well/badly each week. I cannot believe the negativity about Cisse for example as everyone on here was lauding him as a hero after Man U. He has on poor performance and people say he should never play again - ridiculous!

Never play again is ridiculous.

There is a reason he did so well against Utd and so Crap v Villa.

Utd play the ball on the ground.

Cisse is worse in the air than Colin McRae.

IMO I don't think he will have the bollocks to drop the ones he should, ie Murty, Shorey and Doyle.

I expect him to make changes though-Oster, Matejovsky and Cisse are the easy ones for him to drop so expect him to do that. The favourites will remain

I think Bikey should be given a run. I'd have preferred him to start instead of Cisse on sunday. I wouldn't mind seeing Cisse put into midfield and i'd definitely drop Doyle.

I'm not convinced DLC would be any better than Shorey, though he couldn't be any worse given the performance at Villa.

DROP:

Hahnemann
Murty
Cisse (at centre back)
Oster
Doyle

PICK:

-------------------- Federici ----------------------

Rosenior ---- Bikey ---- Dubes/Ivar --- Shorey

Kebe -----Matejovski----Gunnarsson----- Hunt

------------------Kitson-------Lita-----------------

Near total change isn't a bad thing.

Because he's not a liability right now?!

Sorry Gord, I love Sonko but he's a confidence player and right now he's on his knees begging for mercy.

u must be joking - our best player ( creativeness wise anyway ) yesterday, much more effective than harps the crab
these players should be dropped from the squad :
ingi - slow and past it
harps - negative and scared of a tackle - cant fault work rate though but not effective though
oster - should never play football again
murts - just getting a bit too slow imo - rosenior = young , hungry and quick
doyle should only be dropped from the starting 11

I can see the logic in sweeping changing, who couldn't !!, but who the hell do we bring in, the squad players whon turn out for the reserves couldn't even beat an Arsenal youth team last week !! sadly the horse has bolted and we are stuck with what we have, and I cant see much better that the reserves can offer, maybe De La, Lita miles off the pace, Long should really have gone out to a championship side this season coz he hasn't progressed at all, and defensively whichever central pairing has been used this year have been catastrophic.

 If the reserves do Villa tonite play the lot of them at Boro on Saturday , if ya gonna change things lets go for it.
If they lose I will take full responsibility for the defeat and I apologise now for what may turn out to be a very silly idea.
Come on lads keep smiling !

Only Genuine changes that coppell may make are

Ivar in for Cisse
Kebe in for Oster

The rest are more than likely going to be playing out of loyalty.

Think the following should be happening though if coppell was to make a bold move

Lita in for Doyle
Gunnar in for Harper
Rosenior in for Murty

Sky (Ray Wilkins) were also praising Cisse for a brilliant goal saving block he made against Villa.

That hides how terrible he was for the rest of the game. Caught out of position endless times, swinging legs about and missing the ball. It was only Villa's poor finishing that let us off the hook.
