RTFC Drummer
Drew_3 silly thing to do, but he ment no harm by it.

Shane Long acted angrily to his substitution against Liverpool this Saturday  . He should have not thrown his shirt on the floor and then sulked like William Gallas  that is simply letting the team down. If Shane wants to have a sulk he and there then he should really seek advice from Super Nanny  . He has been given the chance to play against Liverpool and should relish it, not get grumpy just because decisions weren't going his way

I believe the phrase is:

"Do one!"

At least it shows he cares.

PLEASE don't justify the actions with that absolutely idiotic and stupidly hopeless phrase. There is nothing worse than when a manager or club try to explain someone's stupid actions by saying it's good to see the passion, or it shows they care a lot.

Has Shane actually been fined?

This article claims that he has been, but nowhere in the quotes does it actually say that he has been fined. :|

Story is in the EP today so it would appear that he has been fined, correctly IMO.

Some more explanation...

The blue-and-white hooped shirt tossed towards the dug-out was not all Shane Long abandoned at Liverpool last weekend. Reading's young striker lost his nerve and concentration too, driven to distraction by a cold, imposing defender revelling in the breaking of an opponent's will. The Irishman's substitution was an act of mercy by Steve Coppell; Martin Skrtel's ruthless triumph was the kind from which crowd favourites emerge.
