Reading Vs Fulham - Biggest Game of the Season!

by Coppelled Streets » 05 Apr 2008 18:19

MUST MUST WIN!!!

It's easy to keep saying as long as Fulham and Bolton keep losing then we're safe, but if we dare start relying on others it's likely to kick us in the nuts.

Have Fulham even won away this season? I don't think they have, so we have every right to expect 3 points next Saturday although if any of us think they'll be a walk over then they're very very wrong!

It's these games that we often trip up on and we must come away from that game with at least a point, at least.

Now, if we do win, are you going to taunt the Fulham support with "Down with the Derby, you're going down with the Derby......."?

I remember oh to well the feeling or desperation, sadness, dissapointment when we went to Oxford's Manor Ground and they taunted us all game long.
I swore to myself I would never dish out the same treatment to any club if they were in that position because of how bad it felt being on the receiving end. And it did hurt!

But will you?

I know I will and I know it goes against what I said back in 98 but Fulham were so smug in going up to Division one when they had Keegan as manager and we were struggling in the same division.
They sang and they sang loud "You'll never play us again, you'll never play us again....."

I wouldn't mind some smugness of our own on Saturday!!

One more win and another Bolton defeat next week will almost certainly do it. And then we can look forward to a long summer with a few no mad signings that are more "work in progress".

Boo!! :D

Was just thinking about that '98 game earlier today.

If Fulham do go down I'll not shed a tear.

Really dislike Fulham Football Club.
Just wish we were the side who made it 100% certain that they will not be playing Premiership football next year.

Good riddance to rubbish.

Can't wait till Fulham go down.
There just a big joke.
If we beat them they will 100% go down.
If we win we will stay up! ( lets Hope )

With both support up for this I expect a fiery atmosphere. Certainly looking forward to this one.

Funny how smugness comes back to bite fans, thats how it is, sure take the piss out of Fulham on saturday, but remember that one day they will be higher than us again, so accept it when it bites you back.

as to 98 we were not really struggling, defeats against Man C then Fulham at home sroved we were not up to ie, we fell apart after and had been looking to the play offs up to that point.

Coppelled Streets MUST MUST WIN!!!
A defeat would be pretty disastrous with the Emirates waiting for us a week later. A draw would be disappointing but would keep us trickling along to safety and would send Fulham further towards oblivion. So not quite must win. On the other hand you can hardly overestimate the value a win would have. To my mind, it would essentially make us safe unless Bolton put two wins together in the next two weeks.

In a way it would be a shame to lose Fulham from the league, because without doubt it is one of the best away days.
Much rather Wigan or Sunderland went down.

However if its us or them theres no contest.

I always remember the Fulham fans coming to the Mad Stad and winning 1-0 in the Burns era, the seaons when they walked the league 2 title, they chanted 'We'll never play you again"

Oh how sweet it would be to send them down....

I was at Fulham's match against Sunderland today. And they were woeful. Truly, truly woeful.

Bullard, and at times, Konchesky were the best players today for them by miles.

Daniella

Not sure its a must win game but its definitely a most not lose match. OK Bolton have a chance of three points next weekend but The Sham have a good away record and Bolton are in desperate form..something like 3 points out of 36 since Anelka left....I think they will struggle to get more than a point next weekend. As long as we can maintain this existing gap over the next few games I will be very happy.

To be brutally honest, if we can't defeat a Fulham side with a mere 4 league victories under their belt this season next Saturday then in all honesty we really should submit out application for re-election to the Coca-Cola Championship forthwith.

Our record, lest we forget, against those who occupy those two remaining relegation places this season is played 3 lost 3, goals for 1 goals against 8.

I expect us to win next Saturday and I bloody well expect our team - after today - to play like a team expecting to win next Saturday.

Daniella hagelund to score for them.

He was absolutely diabolical today. Massive, massive cock-up for Sunderland's third, and just generally crap at all other times.
