yeh, it is due to our crap away form......cant see us getting even a point against Arse or Wigan, maybe draw with Derby, so ideally wins against Fulham and Spurs are required....gulp!

READING
fulham h win
arsenal a lose
wigan a lose
spurs h win
derby a draw

will 39 pts be enough?

BOLTON
West Ham H Win
Boro away draw
Spurs away Lose
Sunderland H Win
Chelsea A lose

puts Bolton on 33 pts, tho they could get wins or draws at boro and spurs....tho that would massively rip up the form book with 4 wins in a row...if we can beat Fulham and the Hammers beat Bolton, then imo we are almost safe, then itll be between Fulham, Bolton and Brum.

BRUM (id be more nervous as a Brum fan...3 home ties but all difficult, one derby and one easy one but they are a better side than Bolton)
Everton H draw
Villa A lose
Liverpool H draw
Fulham A win
Blackburn H draw

36 pts

WIGAN (should be safe, have some good players, we could do with!!)
chelsea a lose
spurs h win
reading h win
villa a lose
man u h lose

40pts

BORO
Spurs A lose
Bolton H -draw
Sunderland H draw
Pompey h - draw
Man City h -win

41 pts

FULHAM (if they are still hanging on then the key game for them will be Brum)
Reading A lose
liverpool H lose
city A lose
brum H lose
pompey A lose

24pts

Going on your predictions 34 points will be enough!

Personally I think if we didnt even get another single point between now and the end of the season we will still stay up, comfortably.

maybe correct, we may stay up due to the incompetence of other sides.....would 32 pts be the lowest ever.....last season wed be relegated!

i think next season may be easier as i cant see any of the sides coming up spend big money like Brum or Sunderland have

Spurs will batter us, knock 3 points off that for a start.

If we still need something they won't batter us. If we are safe, then you maybe right.

I really am not sure we'll get a win at Derby on the last day of the season. This Fulham match is the last three points I expect we have a real chance of getting and that's why it for me is a must must win!

Bolton will take a spanking this weekend and it's a huge three points for both clubs to play for.

Playing West Ham at home aren't they? One of the matches you'd want, against mid-table opposition with nothing to play for who are trying out the kids.

The problem with these games, (i.e. "must win" games against fellow strugglers), is we tend to lose them! I mean look what we did agianst Bolton only a few games ago!!!

I've always said we'll struggle to get anything at Derby last game of the season, and I really fear for us on Saturday. Fulham haven't won away for yonks, and are depserate for points. It's like Watford at home last season, (except we're in the mix this time).

After Saturday's performance, who knows what will happen! Just hope it's the RFC that beat Birmingham that turns up, not the one that lost to Bolton. Luckily Mateovsky's ban is over, (although knowing Sir Steve he'll have to make do with a place on the bench!), so we should have someone who can pass the ball. Really need Kitosn and Doyle to fire Saturday.

See you there!

That worries me as well Strap but he always says he doesn't have to keep faith with a losing line-up.

Is that the same Spurs who've jacked it in since the Carling Cup Final ?

They may win, but they won't batter anything except a few cod fillets before next season.

The thing is this game isn't a "must win", it'll still be in our hands if we lose it but it is a massive game.

It's not really comparable to Watford as they were long since relegated, so weren't needing points and we were experimenting with the first XI a bit despite having half a chance - Halford played, Doyle was only on the bench. The fact they we are in the mix this time will have a bearing.

You mention the Bolton game but since then we had a "must win" against Brum and we know the result from that one.

Fulham are indeed desperate for points but they were on Saturday against Sunderland and were according to people who were there aboslutely wretched, they were desperate at Derby but only got a draw. We've got a decent home record (for a team in our position), they seem to have forgotten how to play away.

Not a foregone conclusion but I think we can go in to this one with some confidence.

I dont think we can rely on West Ham getting anything at the Reebok this weekend.

Bolton to be on 29 with one home game left.

So important we pick up the three points on Sat

Not totally true. We won must win games against Wigan, Brum, arguably Man City and Boro as well...there have been a lot of must win games this season though. The difference between us and Fulham/Bolton is that all of their remaining games are must win whereas we can look at a couple of games, ie Fulham and Derby/Spurs and know that if we win a couple of those we will be safe

I'd be deliriously happy if the one that played for the 1st 30 minutes against Newcastle turned up - with MM in for Cisse we would play our best football of the season. (Scoring might be a problem though....)

Dont really understand the panic, we are playing Fulham on Saturday we have a reasonable home record, they are struggling badly the only thing that will stop us comfortably winning will be if we are "scared" to lose, three more points will definately keep us up, coz Bolton and Fulham are dire !!! and will struggle to break the thirty point barrier !!
