Congratulations to Aldershot, a deserved champion of the BSP this season. Here's hoping for 2 league games between the Shots and the Gulls next season.

Why, oh why do journalists keep referring to Aldershot Town's promotion as them "finally retunring to league football after an absence of 16 years"?

Was the same on the BBC1 morning news too. I'm frankly appalled that my licence fee goes towards such shoddy work.

Their home end was built from disused Anderson shelters.

I'd rather watch my football from that than souless, plastic identikit "stadia".

floyd__streete Congratulations to Aldershot Town FC; promoted to the football league tonight following a 1-1 draw at Exeter.

Anyone go a URL for some Aldershot forums? They'll get mighty confused by an influx of Reading fans offering their heartfelt congratulations.

Truro City wrapped up the Western League title on Saturday with a 6-0 romp over Radstock Town. They will therefore become the first Cornish side to play in the Southern League next season and a right awkward journey for all other clubs in that league - but that obviously compares to nowt when Truro have the same journey to make every other weekend (nearest game for them will be Taunton Town, approx a 250 mile round trip while many of their other visits will be over 500 mile round trips).

Bracknell Town look to have strengthened their case for survival with a 5 point gap over rivals Slough Town at the bottom of the Southern League South & West Division. Slough have 3 games left, Bracknell two.

Was introduced to this site by my boss this morning:

http://www.tonykempster.co.uk

Apparently, the site is updated by Saturday night each week!

Some of it is quite useful and it provides great info for the non-league stattos.

Well done Aldershot. I remember when they went out of the league and down to the bottom of the football pyramid. Can't remember how many promotions they needed to get back into the league (5 rings a bell), but I do recall at the time thinking it was a long way back.

Apologies if already posted but Brommers is up for sale.

Mr O, after a promising start, hasn't been able to get any sort of consistency result wise so it's another year just below the Premiership.

Clinching goal from Andy Gurney keeps Newport in sight of the Conference South playoffs.

The absense of Frimmers worries me....

is he wandering the streets of Hampshire pushing his bicycle, still hungover, or worse still drunk?

or is he working extra hours, so as he can afford next seasons ST?

Either way, welcome back 'shots

and as an aside to you Non league afficionados :?:

why did FC United of Manchester play Lancaster City 3 times this season in the Unibond Division 1?.........first match 2-1 Lancaster at the Giant Axe, second match 2-2 at Gigg Lane, third match 5-2 to the Mancs just last weekend?????????? :?
