They have an automated system that counts every bod through the turnstiles from what I understand...

apparently hence our low attendence for the first ever game... the knob 'eads allegedly forgot to turn it on when they opened the turnstiles.

I wouldn't know how busy the concourse/toilets are during the game, I have a strong bladder and the intention of watching what I've paid to see.

i know what you mean. Thing is there was a big bank of empty seats by the fulham support. I just cant believe that it was only 90 odd seats!. Still - i suppose it doesnt really matter!

We've lost our way, the manager can't find it and the players aren't good enough.

100% down to Coppell. Anyone who understands football saw this season coming a mile off in the summer.

Coppell's a fcukin bottler and unless we are very lucky he'll have cost us our Premiership place.

Yeah he got us here, but what's the point of having a manager who refuses to do anything.

This is the man who didn't sign a centre half cause we had Cisse. How many games has he played at centre half since he made that comment? 2. Nice way to get out of making a big money signing thiugh, just like when we didn't sign a right winger cause Fae played their for Senegal.

You realise Fae cost as much as Gary O'Neill.

I agree, it's amazing the way he's bottled it the previous 2 seasons as well.

No team is good enough in just a couple of seasons, it takes about 5 years to actually build a squad that is ready for the Premier league, look at the likes of Wolves, Sunderland, West Ham and West Brom they have gone up and down the top division and the Championship for a while and West Ham have just managed to confirm themselves as a Premier League team for awhile and the others may do the same in the near future. I remember Man City doing the same a few years ago and look where they are now, challenging for Europe as strong challengers. We may not be good enough but the may focus must be on the club as a whole progressing even if we get relegated so we can stay in Premier League for a good long spell in the future. The quality will come soon, Marek looks good but I think he needs to become a bit more attackive as that's what we lack in my view, a creative forward player. Birmingham have that in Zarate but they don't have the team spirit that we have had in the past few years, let's hope that the team find that again and get back to winning games :D But i strongly believe that whether we stay up or go down, we need to focus on the future of the club as much as the present because to stay in the Premier League for awhile is a task that will only be surpassed if we do that.

As for Coppel bottling it, perhaps he did in a couple of ways but for buying players, its a bit harsh to say because to keep Morale high with loads of fresh faces is a very hard thing to do but sometimes you do have to take risks to succed so maybe he did. I think the main way he bottled it was with Lita, because i think he dropped Lita because of his attitude and behaviour but if he is going to score us goals (which we have lacked recently) he had to play him or at least give him a run in the team. Coppel has been a bottler at times but the fact that on a couple of times he has changed half the team showed that he has some bottle so to say that he is totally is a bit harsh.

Martin Fife....I salute you. That is a 1st Class post and sums up the way a lot of fans feel I believe. It staggers me when you hear so many people inside the club trying to take positives out of the Arsenal performance. It was a fu**ing EMBARRASMENT. The players with the exception of Bikey and perhaps Convey showed a lack of skill that Shrewsbury Town fans would expect. All this boll**ks about 'oh when you play Arsenal you have to expect to be beaten handsomely' & 'anything else is a bonus'....utter shite. Arsenal had drawn the last 5 games in a row at The Emirates, one of them against Birmingham !! and where are they ?
Coppell says 'we gave it a go' - Rubbish. Sky Sports view, 'we wasted posession and have to show more quality on the ball and when passing' MOTD said 'This was a poor Reading performamce and they are in real trouble now' REALITY.
I heard Murty say on BBC Berks that he thought Jimmy Kebe did quite well. He was an absolute joke. My biggest disappointment (other than agreeing with every word of the original post) is the demise of Ibu Sonko. He was so poor at all the things he used to be so good at it almost brought me to tears! His 'challenge' on Adebayor for the goal was again like a player from...Shrewsbury Town, or Mansfield, or Wrexham or Grimsby etc, etc.
Before everyone slams me for not being loyal, looking at the negatives etc, I will be going to Tott & Derby and may find it within me to even go to Wigan. It's not that I'm not loyal, but so many posters will not see that we are exactly as Martin said....'Just not good enough'

CholseyRoyal A couple of years ago most people on here were quite happy at the thought of doing a Charlton and yo-yoing for several seasons before becoming established in the Prem. Why all the despondency now when it is about to happen for the first time?

Because it was perhaps avoidable?

Seriously, we had a good opportunity this summer (hell, last January, this summer and this January) to really bed in and remove at least one cycle of any yo-yo.

kieran I know we have a new stadium

How long does it have be considered a new stadium before it becomes old?

Is 10 years still considered "new"? :|

Funny. I think any stadium erected post 1950's would have to be considered "new" in the English leagues. Imagine the amortization schedule.

:P

I wish I knew as much about football as you guys.

You're so much smarter than everyone else on the board.

How many teams are worse than us again?

So why are we in the position we're in. Enlighten me with your expert knowledge??

I think missing out on Bullard was a big shame. Would have been an ideal replacement for Sidders, would give heart and soul for every match, and I don't think he would've commanded the biggest wages in the world.

Other than the fact he was crippled until about February, I would heartily agree with you.

Last night the Chairman of Birmingham said that they had bought 7 players at the start of the season and only one has turned out to be good enough for the PL.

This makes me think that a/ we have done ok in the transfer market and b/ it really is difficult to find players that are good enough to step up.

What hope is there for the three sides being promoted this season as they are all poor and will need to spend £50M or so to survive.
