URZZZZZZZZ I think missing out on Bullard was a big shame. Would have been an ideal replacement for Sidders, would give heart and soul for every match, and I don't think he would've commanded the biggest wages in the world.

Other than the fact he was crippled until about February, I would heartily agree with you.

And we would not have paid him the wages he would have wanted either.

With the current transfer policy, players like Bullard are simply out of our reach.

Not sure about that when he was at Wigan after their first season but at that point, we'd only just been promoted.

On the other hand, last January, Steven Davis is unhappy at Villa, we know Sidwell is moving on and we could have moved then, maybe? Or at least looked at spending to replace Sidwell then and giving whoever we did sign 6 months to get used to our game and our team. Maybe we did and players didn't want to come or we didn't like the look of them. We did spent £2.5 million on Halford though.

Jimmy Bullard was a bosman signing so I would imagine he would be on at least £35K a week at Fulham. We are still a long way off the first Reading player on that sort of money.

I really don't think he was. Anyway, doesn't matter - once he'd had a good season in the Prem, he was out of our league. I guess that the club has to find these players before they get the reputation (rather like Sidwell, for that matter, but Kits, Lita, Doyle, Shorey, hell, most of our side could be included).
