Do you think we'll drop ticket prices? I can't imagine many clubs do that. I also wonder how many new fans will have found a passionate love affair with Reading and will choose to stick around.

Avon Royal Well put it this way, I'll be spending less on a season ticket next season than I did this year.............

You're not renewing then?

No, I'm 64 with a Birthday in July.......................................

Don't bank on the club retaining that concession! Afterall, the poor old Chairman must be down to his last several hundred million quid!

Anyway, you still take up a seat so why shouldn't you pay the same as the rest of us!

Oh, and the Championship will be bad because we've got the prospect of two entertaining games v Watford!

Sorry - missed off the  .

Won't be 64 for a long time yet - just feel it at the moment.

Pretty sure that there will be at least a token cut in season ticket prices.

Not sure the Fulham and Birmingham fans will be thinking this way come next Sunday evening.

Oh, and another thought.
Coppell may well leave and we'll geta new manager who doesn't show favouritism to any players.
A fresh manager might spruce the team up!
Or it might sink them.

Imagine we go down, and Bristol City stay down. Would Gary Johnson view Reading as a step up? Especially as we are in his part of the world, he's been with Yeovil and Bristol City before. I think Coppell could well resign in the summer so this is worth speculating.

Next Season in Coca Cola Championship

by winchester_royal » 03 May 2008 20:32

NeIm gonna be honest, part of me is looking forward to the championship, for several reasons:

1. Cheaper Tickets.........but thats an obvious one

2. We might be able to win a couple of games

3. We can rebuild a team, there are a number of exciting youngsters in the reserves at the moment, such as Henry, Pearce, Robson-Kanu, and Siggurdsson, if we can build them into the team, and add a couple of new signings then we could be straight back up

Team next season:

USA-Will be best keeper in championship

LR-His pace will make him unbeatable in that division
BK-We might not keep him, but God i hope we do.....too good for championship though
Pearce-Has apparently been quality for Norwich in the championship....lets give him a chance
Hunt-His work rate is invaluable, Shorey has to go, it seems pretty logical to me

Henry/Little-Little will not be able to play all the games next season.....Henry has great potential.....a mixture of the two please
Gunnar-Good player for Championship, we have missed him
Marek/New CM-Whether or not we will keep MM is debatable, if he has a good Euro 2008 then no we won't, and if that is the case then we need a new cm......time to sell harps
Convey/Robson-Kanu-Convey is quality at this level......R-K is another one with great promise

Lita-Loved him today......worked his socks off
Doyle-Scores goals in championship

Not sure about Hunt at left back (although he did put in a good performance there against Sheff Utd) but agree with most of it. I'd like to see Scott Golbourne get a chance too. I hear lots of good stuff about the likes of Henry, Golbourne, Sigurdsson, Pearce and that young Bulgarian striker we've signed, whatever division we're in next season I'd like to see them get a chance.

That looks a bit like a Championship team-one that would keep us in the Championship. :(

Avon Royal Quite looking forward to:

-Cheaper season ticket
-Cheaper away days
-Winning away
-Meeting up with old rivals again (although it will be strange with no Stoke)
-Having fun again
-An away game I can cycle to
-Fewer hangers-on

Roll on August the 9th!

Actually everywhere is walking distance if you've got the time.

I'm a new fan and I'll be back. I'm working out ways to buy a season ticket already...and it is a passionate love affair because most of the matches I've seen we've lost, but I still want to be back there cheering us on.

Start with money and go from there.

I for one hope that the club introduce better pricing around the ground, it has been seen that the better seats have always been sold out, while the worse areas are sold last, at Cardiff next season you can get a ST for £199 as an adult, granted it is a terrace, but IMHO RFC should really look at charging more for the popular areas and a lot less for the high corner sections, and those nearer pitch level.

I would pay £199 for a terrace st at RFC, if only.

I'm pretty sure this would make a good championship team:

Hahnemann
Rosenior, Bikey/Duberry, Ingimarrson/Cisse, De La Cruz
Oster, Harper, Matejovski, Convey
Kitson, Doyle

I can't see Shorey, Sonko, Fae, Hunt or Lita staying. Some for obvious reasons. With Little, Gunnar, Murty and Long as back up we don't need a huge amount of quality in to be capable of pushing for the play offs if we can regain a bit of confidence. Especially with the possible emergence of Henry, Bozanic, Pearce, Karacan and co.

Not that we are necessarily down yet.
