Dirk Gently How about a sudden discovery that Jimmy Bullard's registration form was filled out incorrectly, and so he Fulham are docked about 20 point for playing an ineligible player?

This would be good. :)

Dont think anyone cares how we stay up as long as we are in the prem next season
Pompey probably wont play a strong team against fulham cos of the FA cup but we are playing derby and i challenge anyone to name a "strong" derby side
Ashdown is pretty decent from what i have seen of him and hopefully will do us a favour and keep a clean sheet if he plays

For heaven's sake!!!! Redknapp said no such thing. He worded it very carefully. He said he wouldn't field a very very very weak team.

A different spin on the Pompey effect (because I can't decide whether I want to be positive or negative). How about if Harry is having a selection dilema and will play some of the stronger players to make his decision easier come the 17th?? To further this, there may be some players who make an appearance on Sunday who are on the brink of the team, and one wonder performance could see them appear in the greatest cup final in the world.

End note
I'm finding it very difficult not to let next Sunday be on my mind every single waking minute. I am actually on the verge of insanity I think, so apologies for any bollocks I have spouted on this or any thread.

earleyroyal
LoyalRoyalFan Lets hope it comes true.
Ashdown saves us from relagation and Duberry scores.

Or.
John Oster scores a 94th minute 30 yard screamer and Fulham go down.

I'll see your John Oster and raise you a Jimmy Kebe overhead kick, silencing anyone who questioned Coppell's transfer policy.

Although he did look a bit good after that electrifying run against Everton

Very droll. I like your humour. Yes, our purchases haven't been great this year.

Will Jamie Ashdown Help?

by Berry » 05 May 2008 22:08

Id like to think Jamie might still have a soft spot for little ol Reading seeing as he is likely to be the Keeper for the Pompey v Fulham game.
Did Jamie leave on good terms ??
Maybe im clutching at straws here but..............

by chippc » 06 May 2008 20:15

I always new that he is a great manager. Come on Harry get your players fired up for Saturday!

Please leave your comments for Harry, Defoe and the rest of Pompey here.

A draw will do, then all we have to do is beat Derby!!!!!!!!!!

What a shame that The Whiff damaged our hopes by awarding Pompey fans their end of season award in the 'Most annoying away fans' category!!

......So Fulham go down still ahead of Derby and we finish 3rd bottom having lost to Derby. Brum survive with a home draw.
I like to see the negatives even if Fulham got docked the odd 20 points.

I would rather Reading be relegated to the Blue Square Premier than to pay tribute to that oxf*rd Redknapp.

Jamie is a Reading boy isn't he? I'm sure he's got a bit of a soft spot for RFC. Nice guy too, a Pompey fan we know was talking to him and happened to mention to him that my daughter is a goalkeeper and big Reading fan. He sent her an autographed photo and personal message.

Play Up Pompey!

by seahawk10 » 07 May 2008 15:10

As distasteful as it may seem to some (and it is difficult to even start this thread) but we will all be rooting for Pompey nearly as hard as Reading this Sunday. So who is Redknapp likely to start in his 'not very, very, very weak' team? Jermain Defoe is cup-tied thankfully so he will be in the side. Who else is likely to be in the starting XI? I am guessing that those he will rest will include Sol Campbell, Kranjcar, Baros and anyone else battling any type of minor injury. I think Sean Davis, Lauren, Richard Hughes and David Nugent will start (and go back to the bench for the FA Cup Final).

So come on Pompey!!!! Win it for Reading FC and for this guy:

that picture is solely why even on Sunday i don't want them to win, a draw would be suffice and we win.

Playing against Pompey next season > playing against the biggest team on the south coast next season!

By my reckoning that's our best chance.
