oh dear, this quote from Harry

Portsmouth manager Harry Redknapp congratulated Hodgson, saying: "I think he's done a wonderful job, a bit similar to when we narrowly escaped relegation a couple of seasons ago, although Roy's got better players than I had then."

lol @ Reading fans blaming everyone else because we got relegated.

We've only got ourselves to blame.

If we'd beaten Bolton or Fulham at the MadStad (instead of Liverpool) we'd have survived - it's really as simple as that. What we failed to do earlier in the season has now come back to bite us - no good blaming anyone else but ourselves.

RoyalBird Seeing as I'm currently residing at Cardiff Uni and living with a fan atm, I would have been cheering on cardiff in the final anyway!

Jeffers217 Well I watchedc that game and Pompey were the better team and most likely to score. It's our fault for throwing it away

same here...fulham did f all in the whole match until Reading were 2 up.....before they scored they had one shot on goal...in the first 5 mins.....in the whole match they had 2 shots on goal.....annoyingly once fulham scored, pompey couldnt be bothered...aholes....hope they lose to...oh its cardiff another shit club

ulimately its readings fault tho...as i though, the loss at Spurs cost us...we just needed a point

Gunny Fishcake The league table never lies , but just to make me feel better , what a bunch of gutless spineless tossers that lot at Pompey are ,oxf*rd , I hope they get hammered next week in a cup final I for one won;t be watching

Yea, let's all blame Portsmouth! It was their fault, after all they did let Fulham win, didn't they.

At this point in time, I hate Portsmouth for not scoring.
DEFOE, DO YOUR JOB NEXT TIME.

Cardiff to steal the trophy.
Then let us Royals rub the trophy in Portsmouth's faces.

Someone else made the very valid point that it was the way that Sven's useless tossers let slip a 2-0 lead at home that gave Fulham the momentum in the first place.

The bitterness towards Pompey is frankly pathetic. We'd be doing exactly the same thing in their position. In fact our players stopped trying about 4 weeks ago, and we DID have something to play for! Our players only rediscovered their hunger and desire today. Let's not forget that!

Couldn't agree more. Why not hate Blackburn as well for being so pathetic. Fulham fans could equally have had a go a Derby for not caring . Its just pointless and childish. The pivotal game of the campaign was Fulham at home and we bottled it.

Not only did they gift Fulham the points today, they also scored too many goals against us to screw up our goal difference. If they'd of tried less in those matches and scored fewer goals, we'd of stayed up.

As much as it hurts, I'll support Cardiff next week...

Portsmouth are a horrible club all the same.
Glad i`m going on holiday next week where I shall be missing probably the most pointless, boring, non interesting cup final in years, between two tin pot outfits.
Both are run by dodgy managers with suspicious owners and tw@ts as fans.

At least I would feel better in myself if the gutless, spineless Pompey lost!

I've seen some fickle replies to some fickle threads on this team forum, but this really is something else. Well done to all.
