PorkyRfcScarface Why would you want a manager that ruined 4 years of great work, in 2 transfer windows, by sticking loyal and completely mis-judging his group of players. What then made it worse, is in January when all his mistakes were highlighted in black and white, he yet again failed to do anything. This man lost the plot this season and he is soley responsible for the relegation.
I thank him for getting to the Premiership, but history says this man is a bottler and I expect him to go and I hope it's soon. We need a fresh start, with fresh ideas and no loyalty to underachieving players. We still have the basis of a decent squad good enough to jump straight back, just not with a manager who thinks kebe and Oster are Premiership players.
We mustn't get clowded by what he achieved 2 years ago, it's this years achievement that I'm interested in.
Mark my words when I suggested in Aug we'd get relegated fans mocked, but when we're bottom 2 next year at Christmas YOU will be calling for Coppell's head.
You are in a tiny, tiny minority

working class hero FWIW Steve said at the Forum that his weakness is being over loyal to his players and possibly avoiding making tough decisions.
I would be willing to put up with this 'weakness' next season if Steve stays. Many of our squad are going to look good in the CCC.
So the message is simple:
STAY

1871royals I am a huge SC fan and think he is our best ever manager.
But do we want someone to stay who hasn’t got the desire anymore?
What happens if next year he wants a break again?
It saddens me to say it but it looks like SC isn’t the future. Even if the demonstrations etc work, he will only want to be here in the short term
I think we need to start building for the long term future with a new manager

Must admit, that's my thinking. Just from the way he was speaking and his body language at the forum and then at Derby, my gut feeling is Coppell feels he's run his course. We can't beg someone to stay who doesn't want to be here. If Coppell wants to stay then he stays simple and great, but if I suspect he doesn't really want to be here then he should do the right thing and walk away now, no questions asked.
I support the rally fully though, it's a nice gesture.
