Views from across the country ...

by Y25 » 13 May 2008 13:02

As this is the 5,000 thread I thought i'd post something special

here are some of the thoughts from across the country on the England fans forum ...

Firstly because I like Jimmy Bullard.

Seems a great bloke.

Also, some nonentity of a Reading player disrespected the FA Cup a few months ago with some ridiculous comments.

Pleased they went down.

Agree with you about Jimmy Bullard PJB, top bloke. It's the mutterings of a certain Mr. Crouch that get on my nerves.

Decent away day Reading, usually get a decent result.

Hate the club in general though, plastic!

Plastic club with plastic fans who still sing "you're sh*t aaaaaagh" when the away goalie takes a goal kick.

Congratulations to Fulham, a proper club.

Can't argue with any of the 3 relegated & as a West Ham man, I'm especially happy about one in particular.

Good shout about the FA cup.

Ruins a good premiership quiz question though.

Until today Reading were the oldest club in the prem.

So Portsmouth respected the F.A.Cup by not turning up yesterdsay! To quote BBC Sports:-

"They were faced by Portsmouth players who had two incentives - to arrest a run of three consecutive defeats and to stake their claim for a starting place in the FA Cup final line-up.

But the hosts appeared unwilling to break a sweat....."

After reading that lot I can finally understand why people like Daniella are so desperate for us to look 'good' in the eyes of opposition fans - they're just as bigoted and ignorant as he is.

It doesn't matter who goes down - there'll always be some bitter little brats out there who'll gloat about it. Some fans get twisted and hold grudges. It's their problem, not ours.

If you think thats bad have a look at the Bladesunited site. They are have a reel Reading hatefest on there.

West Ham's KUMB is not much better.

To be hated is better than being ignored :D

I wasnt at the Madesjki for the home leg against Sheff Utd last year, but my close friend and blades supporter was certainly angry with our fans when he left. I can't imagine what such nice fans did to upset them...

Me and alad amongst a few others moaned about our plastic fans for the last few seasons, you all ridiculed us.

Every one of those comments is about how much they hate reading because of it. Its no surprise at all that everyone wanted to see us FAIL.
Reading fans are just a bunch of happy clapping, prawn sandwich eating, day tripping bunch of girls who wouldn't dare create an atmosphere as they feel its embarrassing for a grown man to sing.

When reading fans learn to ignore stewards, stand up at away games, create some atmosphere and stop wearing face paint then they will be respected as football fans and our club will be hated less. Football is a working class game and our fans are too posh, arrogant and snobby for the majority of fans to like. I'll always remember graeme murty's pen at qpr, 25% of the ground going mental for 30 seconds and 75% clapping and waving balloons seconds after the goal. There is no passion.

Oh no, blades and West Ham fans hate us. It's not like we haven't given them reason to over the years.

Next you'll be telling me a Swindon fan was happy to see us go down. Oh hang on, one of them is on there too.

Most fans of most clubs are either neutral or fairly positive towards us. Even if they weren't it's what we do and how we feel that is important.

Finerain. Thats a minority of morons like yourself. Anyone who dislikes us because we're "plastic" isn't worth considering. For every one of them the rest of us could give a dozen examples of people who like and respect our club and would have been happy for us to stay up.

Take the blinkers off ian royal. If you are suggesting the majority of football fans are morons then this is the wrong sport for you. Just look at all the comments, look at them. We are a hated club, how can you deny that? Why would west ham hate us? They stole our manager.

No the majority of those like you are morons.

I can't possibly think why West Ham might hate us... certainly not for the stick some gave about Moore, or consistantly beating them at our place when they were so much "bigger" than us. Oh and dicking them last year and finishing miles above them. No reason to hate us there at all.

so a dozen comments on a flamey website. Oh my gosh how worrying. I could equal that number of detractors with positive neutrals I've met and know on my own.

Mate. Don't get wound up by these people, I did when Reading played Chelsea last year, until I realised that they're all pathetic keyboard warriors who wouldn't know what real football was if it hit them in the face. The best response is to  at how grown men/women (at least physically if not mentally) can be so stupid, and to be proud that you support a club that does things the right way.

We are not a hated club, the vast majority of neutrals who know anything about football enjoyed our football last season, and have great respect for Coppell and our players, although Hunt does have a bad press which is sad but inevitable with our media. A few bitter retards on one internet forum doesn't change this.
