Worst player you've seen at Reading

by rhroyal » 16 May 2008 23:07

I've mainly been following since the turn of the Millennium and don't remember the Mass Sarr era. For me the worst was Bas Savage. I couldn't run, he was clumsy and got in the way and everything was poor. Worst of all at 6' 4" he could never win a header.

Leave Bas alone!! Does no-one remember his stunning cameo against Chelsea in the Carling Cup in 2003? Oh.

He was very shit but I'm sure there's been worse, I've only been following for 5 years and the worst I can remember is Savage, although in relation to the level they were at Kebe has to be up there, or down there. :|

I had and have a passionate hate for Mass Sarr. I appreciate that his wife was ill but I still can't forget how crap he was. actually maybe my response was based on idiotic RFC fans saying he was brilliant when he was clearly shit

Robert Codner. Couldn't run and the turning circle of an aircraft carrier.

Mass is saved by his performance on the first day at the Madejski.

And the best bit of skill I've ever seen 'live' in the opening game at Wrexham.

Bas Savage.

Mentions for Mark Reilly, Paul Brooker, Simon Sheppard, Michael Meaker, Brayson, Evers, Kromheer, Van Der Kwaak etc

All those you could see had some element of football coaching, they just weren't good enough or just didn't work out for us. Savage however had all the grace of a one legged man with ricketts. Looked like some lad they saw on the streets of Whitley, chucked into some ill fitting gola boots and told 'do your best son'. Absolutely DUMP.

Rightly so, 1 goal in 46 as a striker that cost £100,000. He was pony. We've had a few worse though which in itself is shocking.

Simon Sheppard. With him inbetween the sticks , you were just waiting for the inevitable.
