Rawlie19KesRawlie19 You told us there would be a press conference on the 20th May at 2.30pm? Impressive stuff from a Chelsea supporter.
I said there was a press conference next week. Didn't say the day or time as it had to be confirmed.
In that case, I predict that Reading will sign a new player in the next 2 months. You heard it here first.

Harry Carry As suspected, a bit of a pointless news conference. i think SKY realised that after about 10 minutes of drivel.

Stevie G For me this speaks volumes about the club, SSC, the chairman, the fans, the backroom staff and all and is all part of the continued 'brick by brick' philosophy.
The fans are not demanding of constant and instant success and can swallow whatever is chucked at us (despite what you read on HNA). We are an up and coming club, with ambition, but not overinflated ego.
The chairman can accommodate risk, the odd bad decision and dressing room fallout without resorting to blaming the manager to save his skin. He clearly has a business plan that could accommodate relegation and quite likely had it at the start of the season.
As a club we don't dispense with the one man expected to pull it all together at the first or even major sign that it's not going as best as it could.
I'm still very disappointed that we just didn't get that draw at home to Fulham or Bolton, or didn't conceded so badly against Pompey or Spurs but the last game of the season sealed my opinion on the potential for effort and commitment.
Expect some plaudits from the football fraternity. Newcastle, Citeh and some black country clubs et all take note!

Denver Royal Not sure why we needed the drama of a press conference to announce it. Why couldn't the club simply release a statement? And if they knew last Wednesday, as is alleged, why the delay?

Agreed, the rest of the world must have been watching, bored to tears, and thinking "Who gives a shiate?".

Huntley & Palmer Though of course, when he leaves next season, this will all be for nought

The club has as season to court a new manager if he is intent on leaving at the end of this contract.
I don't think Coppell will have made that decision yet though.
It's not how he does things (as we all know)
