Ojc "Any decent side could walk the Championship" "The Championship is a weak league"

Are you for real mate? Apart from the top 4 of the Premiership any number of Championship sides could beat Premiership sides. Get a grip.

14/1 are the ones to look out for....you think QPR are rich? Look closer at those in Suffolk quietly going about their business.

You know nothing about football, keep your gob shut lad.

The Championship isn't a strong league, theres just a lot of very average sides in it. Look at the sides that went up this season and the amount of games they lost.

We proved that wrong a couple of years ago didn't we.

But it's a more competative league, we could finish between 1-13.

Geekins I don't think we'll go up next year... I think play-offs will be realistic. I'd be happy with that.

'kin hell how can we be second favourites, when we don't yet know what players or managemant are going to be here next season? all a load of twodle if you ask me.

agreed, before the start

Reading may have sold, but hope not Shorey, Hunt, Marek, Lita..............and hope so, Fae
Brum will have lost half their players
QPR will have bought 2 new teams
Derby will have bought 2 new teams

how Derby are 3rd joint is the most shocking....even the most ardent Derby fan will admit next season will be a rebuilding season, with maybe a challenge the season after

Hahnemann
Murty
Rosenior
Duberry
Bikey
Matejovsky
Harper
Little
Hunt
Kitson
Doyle

Keep that lot and a few others, plus 2 or 3 new signings to freshen things up, and I will be as confident of going straight back up as I was of survival in the PL...

Warnock's Palace must be in with a shout but Derby and Birmingham will both be potless and do well to finish in the Top half. I quite fancy Derby to get relegated again actually. If Boothroyd can spend a bit to improve Watford's squad I would imagine they will be capable improvement as he is a good manager I think.

So here we are, 2nd favourites around the country, not just to get promoted...but to win the whole freaking ball of wax.

Yet here we are in HNA?, thinking we'll finish 13th, and saying how hard and tough its going to be.

Well, I guess we know little ole Reading better than most of them suckers out there, huh?

Save your money, boys. Sir Steve is on holiday and the trickle down effect of the lower ticket prices hasn't kicked in just yet.

Although, in a way it has. Mr Mad, always an astute football mind, announced today that we will need to do some 'trading'. Right you are, John.

But hey, at least we have a club that is run on a sensible and sound financial footing. And don't let anyone dare forget it. 8)

A Reading fan telling me I know nothing about football  Funniest thing I have heard all year. Luckily a few supporters have already told you to STFU before I did.

Anyway, Derby won't win this league, not a cat in hells chance. Birmingham might mount a challenge simular to West Brom's this season depending on what players they manage to keep hold of.

QPR might well be signing a lot of players, but that doesn't always mean they will go up, look at Leicester they brought in 12 players over the course of the season and ended up getting relegated.

I fully expect Reading, Ipswich, Wolves to be the main challengers next season as they play the game the proper way and Wolves and Ipswich have been steadily improving and providing Reading keep hold of their core players they should fare ok.

When you open your eyes to teams other than Reading you tend to notice the little things. Wolves will be there or there abouts this season.

lol true, but same could be said about most teams believing next season will be their season.

I don't support Wolves BTW, just you can see what McCartney is doing at Wolves and after watching them against West Brom which IMO was the most entertaining game of the Championship last season you can see marked improvement.

Harry Carry The problem is with Reading is losing becomes a habit and I think it will be a lot tougher than we think in the Championship. We've seen numerous clubs relegated from the Premiership before and really struggle the following season.

i think Palace are a great bet for next season. They finished the season strongly and they do have some great young players. Warnock will bring in a few more experienced players to help them along.

We've also seen fairly mediocre teams go down and come back up. Bolton repeatedly and more recently Brum last year. We are at least on a par with that team. Also Sunderland managed to win the title after not turning up for the first 8 games or so.
