The truth is Henry couldn't get into Norwich's squad let alone team when he was on loan there. I know that's because of all the loan players they had, including some real quality like Ched Evans. However if Henry is as good as we say he is he could have forced his way in. Likewise you hear rumours of Spurs and Arsenal interested, but at the same time he can't get near our team when there's no other fit right wingers. We played Rosenior, Fae and Hunt on the right as opposed to giving him a chance, and he is 18 or 19, by no means too young. We hear a lot of promising things about him but the truth is if he was good enough he would have made an impact somewhere by now. Lets hope next season my reasonable argument is blown out of the water.

Adz1871 Just looking at the England line up and noticed how many have already had first team experience.

England: David Button, Curtis Obeng, James Tomkins, Krystian Pearce, Joe Mattock, Scott Sinclair, Kieran Gibbs, Jack Cork (c), James Henry, Freddie Sears, Andy Carroll

From that list, James Tompkins, Scott Sinclair, Kieran Gibbs, Freddie Sears and Andy Carroll have all had first team experience with their respective clubs.

Less than half then !!

Wasnt it Henry that came on against Liverpool in the league cup towards the end? Didnt seem to do much but then again from what I remember he only had a handful of chances on the ball, and a bit of a leap coming on against Liverpool. Hope he does prove his worth with whatever chances Coppell deems appropriate next season.

Henry looked out of his depth in the championship when he was on loan at Norwich. Doesn't exactly augur well.

But then again Norwich had the Arsenal lad Gibbs on loan at the same time as Henry and although he played more games than Henry, he looked out of his depth as well, so maybe going to play in the CCC isn't the panacea we all thought it was.

There was also the bright start that ended up with several games on the bench for Bournemouth. SC said Henry had a "very poor" start to last season. I think the main problem is consistency, and you can't be risking a place to a player when you don't know if he's going to show up.

And of those Sinclair has made only 2 substitute appearances, and Gibbs 1 appearance (+1 sub) in the League Cup. Carroll has a few sub appearances to his name though and the West Ham lads have been getting games (but the team had already given up for the season by then - not a position Reading have been in recently (arguably!)).

So Henry isn't that far behind any of them in terms of experience, and hopefully Coppell will be keener to play him than Roeder was since he stands to gain more if the player develops as we all want him to. Outside the pressure-cooker of the Premier League he might just get that chance....

I heard Reading offered him a huge pay offer, and I mean huge for an 18 year old, and he turned it down because he thought he was worth more.

I heard you weren't the type to be judgmental on the basis of insufficient evidence.
