Apocalypse Now Chelsea will probably move for Gerrard, who since declaring he wanted to leave to win things in June 2005 has only won the FA Cup in 3 years.

I thought any mention of Gerard moving away was early in the season before the Champions League win?

Fabio Capello* Asked, earlier, about the possibility of Frank Lampard joining Internazionale he said 'every new experience enriches you'

A couple of years abroad in a decent team and set up like Inter's would be good for anyone.

Not really when you consider Mourinho is the manager and he'd be signing Lampard so he could do exactly what he did for him at Chelsea.

It wouldn't improve him as a player because Mourinho would be signing him so he could play exactly like he does for Chelsea.

Playing in a different league, with a different style and both with and against different players will give him a great opportunity to learn.

Kes is this the same fat frank that ran rings around Reading and scored at the madplastic stadium last season?

He's almost 30 now. He'll be playing for his old manager who will use the same tactics and will use Lampard in the same way. It will suit Lampard perfectly but I can't see it improving his game.

It wasn't for Bergkamp.

You're a bit short sighted then.

Yes he's almost 30, but look how Giggs and Scholes have added and improved their games beyond 30. Look at how the likes of Gary Speed and John Barnes adapted their games and continued to learn.

A new environment and a new league will give Lampard a great opportunity to add to his game. He might not take it, but the opportunity will be there.

If he was going to a club that wasn't managed by Mourinho you may have a point.

It's not just about the manager though is it.

Giggs and Scholes have only played under Fergie, they've still been able to learn new tricks as they've got older.

Lampard could do the same staying at Chelsea and being under a new manager, but a change in environment will give him more opportunity because of the players he's with and against and everything surrounding him is different.

They had more freedom though and are both technically superb players.

I'd be happy for him to go because it will prove to everyone who gives him stick that he's actually a very good midfielder.
