I can't stand dyslexic jokes. They're not clever and they're not furry.

I do find it interesting that there is an assumption that dyslexia means that you can't spell; or that because you can't spell you are dyslexic. I work in an environment where I have to be aware of dyslexia, and I have found that most of the dyslexics that I encounter have difficulties in reading quickly but most, given a little extra time, can spell as well as the rest of us. They are, of course, dyslexics who have been to school and learned how to spell - so that helps.

Dyslexia is merely an excuse for being too lazy to learn how to spell.

I used to work with a class of six-seven year olds and there was a girl there who was obviously dyslexic. She would write words down and every now and then one would be spelt in a very odd way like 'biefhgryryd' for 'bird'. We had an expert in dyslexia come to the school and she reckoned it was because the girl felt the word sounded like it should be longer than it looked, so she put in all the extra letters. Mind you the expert also said that the term 'dyslexia' covered anyone who had a problem with reading and/or writing.

You can go back to the football now.

Arch Anyone who did that every time they posted would be truly sad

...or dyslexic but keen to make sure they get their point across.

Anyway, no more from me on this subject - it's close to my heart because I'm dyslexic myself but hate being bracketed with people who are just lazy!

You should join a society or something, perhaps the DNA - Natitional Dyslexic Association,

You should all stick together Dyslexics of the World untie!

Trouble is, not only am I dyslexic but I'm an amnesiac and morally conflicted as well. I even stayed awake all last night wondering if there really is a dog.

I don't believe that dyslexia exists either. It's just laziness or stupidity.

These are all just excuses made up by people who don't have dyslexia.

Oh, just something I picked out of the wardrobe.

Why?

The last time I answered this question I regretted it. Don't know why I'm bothering this time except that I'm bored.
