Archie's penalty That may be true but I am happy with that outcome. If we can get 20,000 gates at the start of the season that will be a good result. It will also be nice to be able to get tickets on the day of the game (that is what will happen right?).

Be lucky to get 20,000 at the start of the season. More like 16,000 with Holidays etc. That's the problem with an early August start. Crowds would be better with an September start and June finish.

Play 2 games a week, start 1st September and get it all out of the way by January. Loads of extra time for close season paranoia on message boards

Really thumb our noses at the establishment and send the Reading Ladies out in the League Cup (if we could get the opposition thinking our way they could play the Dagenham Girl Pipers...)

And I'll be one of those 2000 who gets a new season ticket. I also have a list of friends and relations who want to come along to a few matches, so perhaps we'll pick up some new fans too.

Norfolk Royal I don't know if this is relevant as perspective, but Norwich reached their 20,000 season ticket limit more than a week ago.

Beats oxf*rd your sister every weekend I suppose

Not to mention that there is absolutely nothing else in Norfolk during the winter. Actually, there is nothing else in Norfolk full stop. I expect that there are some Norwich ST holders who buy them just to guarantee a seat at the annual East Anglian insult fest when they play Ipswich.

I think Norwich have also marketed themselves well, they have the advantage of having had several seasons at the top with European football added in. They got people hooked then and have held on to them, with it essentailly selling out every wek it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy that you have to get a ST if you want to go to games.

If we have a good season this season we'll be in with a shout of followingwhat they've achieved.

Doubt it Rog. Norwich have charged ridiculously cheap prices over the last three seasons and have probably done the same for the forthcoming campaign. Can you ever see RFC doing fans a favour.

at £479, Norwich's ridiculously cheap season tickets are considerably more expensive than ours.

What they do do, on the other hand, is offer huge discounts for purchasing season tickets early - £366 if renewed before March, for example.

Their prices are also considerably more "family friendly" too.

My Charlton supporting friend says his seaston ticket, (behind the goal) is £360 but if you opted for one of the corners, it's less than £300.

Plus, if they get promoted, next year's seson ticket is free. Sounds like a sensational deal, I suppose it's because they have more competition close by.

The thing about Norwich is that they always announce the crowd as the number of tickets sold, rather than the number of people actually at the game.

For some reason that pisses me off.

Another thing that pissed me off was the year they got away with only giving 200 odd away tickets - and those were on the touchline. I don't mean near the touchline, I mean on the touchline. Couldn't stretch without tripping the lino up. vvankers.

I fu(king hate Norwich.

Isn't that what Reading do? Pretty sure they count STHs as omni-present.
