Streets Thing is, you try replacing him on our budget.

We have no idea what 'budget' there may be so that's a pretty hard one to call.

But given that Harps has been here a long time and will be one of the top earners I'd say replacing him wouldn't be an issue financially.

It would be sad to see him go, lovely attitude and an important cog in the machine but would agree that he may be one that needs to move on at this point.

Agree totally. My favourite player (and character) of recent times, but perhaps it's time to move on (for him and us).

Its a bit crap that arsenal will get over £1m out of the Harper transfer.
Its not as if we have robbed a little club of their most talented player.

Since when did Clubs become charities and think of anyone else but themselves.

Good bit of business by Arsenal on all acounts.

Also the price we paid for him was less than his market value at the time - just another case of buy now, pay later.

If we had we'd be forking out rather more than a million at this point !

and us to be fair

we gained out of it no matter what the fee we get for him-arsenal made us pay in retrospect for potential, and he fulfilled it and more as far as im concerned

Same here, although I think the time is right for him and the club to part. Many years decent and steady service without ever being spectacular. Would probably be one of the easier players to replace as well. Anything over £3.5million would be a fair price for Harps

Goodluck to Harps wherever he ends up.

Alan Partridge HArper is one of those that's had his time now it's best for him and us that he moves on. HE's a player that has blown hot and cold just about every season that he's been here. HE's done very well for and from this club over the last 7-8 years, he's improved, the clubs improved and we will make a decent profit out of him. In my opinion losing him isn't even remotely as damaging as losing someone like Sidwell. We couldn't replace Sidwell's drive and ability to get up and down the pitch, Harper should be a lot easier to replace and might force us to change our style of play which would almost be a positive thing.

If and when he goes, cheers Harps and best of luck.

'greed.

Row Z Royal Nothing on SkySports http://www.skysports.com/football/transfer_centre

Though Shorey's off to Pompey as well now

Predictable, and a better move for him than going to the Sham.

Alot of people slag him off but i believe that he is a big player for us and is one of the main reasons we reached the Prem in the first place. But he has done his duties at Reading so I won't blame him if he left to further his football career.

Starry Blue Hooped Wonder
Whore Jackie Any chance your mate’s Dad could let us know what Shorey’s bushes are looking like? He’s round the corner from Harper, just behind Little’s immaculate lawns.

Apparantly Shoreys garden has been imaculate since January. He put in some easy maintenance shrubs so he didn't have to expend too much effort to keep it looking good

Give me Shoreys address and I will personally go round there and make sure the garden is up to scratch, clean the gutters and paint the windows. I will also take some boxes round to help him pack. The sooner that big time *rick goes the better the team spirit will be.
I bet he is like uncle Albert on the coach to games, 'when I was with England' etc.

As for Harps, god will we miss him, he does so much for the team but as it is not the spectacular he gets no credit.

This is a first - Big Ern and AP agreeing with something I posted a few weeks ago...

On 4th June Royal Rother It does somehow feel like the time is right for both parties.

I suppose I can't be wrong all the time.

It was a sensible post with a very realistic chance of that happening.

It might be right for both parties but let us hope that the club has a firm idea of the type of player needed to support Marek in centre midfield.
Cisse or Bryn might "do a job" but we have had too much of that lately (players just filling in) and surely what we want is to build a side that won't need dismantling if and when we reach the promised land again?

Why would he be?

Lets be honest, Harper's defining characteristic is his work rate.....which many players have.
