Big Ern Would probably be one of the easier players to replace as well.

You've got to be kidding.

Why would he be?

Lets be honest, Harper's defining characteristic is his work rate.....which many players have.

and his passing
scoring of superb goals
and his general attitude and demeanor
hes where our team spirit comes from
and his eyebrows

His passing is no better than average
Does not score many goals

Admittedly his humour and general team spirit is something we'll miss....but he is not irreplaceable at this level, unlike BK and Marek

think thats a bit unfair-i can remember most of harps' goals and i loved them all-perhaps not enough of them, perhaps not important enough ones-but theyre in my memory ahead of most of siddys.

and as for passing if you mean no better than the average prem footballer you are correct.
he was way way above average for reading, in that current team, or over the years

and youll never ever replace those eyebrows

know what you mean though
im over it already
move on

sniff

He should stop hanging around if he's going. I hate these long goodbyes.

Funny seeing how people are saying 'Harps is easy to replace.' I seem to remember this time last season loads of people saying Sidwell will be easy to replace, because all he really has is work rate. Wonder if anyone here would actually prefer Fae or Cisse instead of Sidwell.

You need to understand that work-rate and end product are two very different things.

Agreed, how many goals did he get this season? If every player had the same mentality on the pitch as Harper, I believe we would still be in the prem.

If he did then perhaps we wouldn't have gone down and Chelsea would have taken him over Sidwell.

Sidwell on a free had to be a better call than Harper for sveral million. Forget what either offered on the ptich the Sidwell deal was a good 'investment' which Chelsea will probably profit from.

Yes, because Chelsea are worried about making a few grand for a player who didn't play with Roman's billions.

More than a few grand....

Of course you being the expert on business will appreciate the difference between the two deals, and any good businessman will always be looking at the chance to make some easy money irrespective of how much he already has.

According to Radio Berkshire this morning, something will be happening on the transfer front later this week, and it involves Middlesborough.

I hope not. Downing is uber-overrated imo. Not that it's a going concern, obviously. But LOL at any team who pays more than 2m for Downing.

But those are the posters on here who would say that about almost any player.

I also think those that were saying "we can replace Sidwell" were also those that rather over-rated Harper.
