You know what the deal will be; we'll sign 3/4 players, all of which will be players we've never or only vaguely heard of, who trade under the premise of ones for the future and need a little bit of work to get the full monty out of them.

And so will start our 4/5 year tenure of Division 2 before finally it all comes together and we get back to Division 1 under Kevin Dillon.

Roman Kienast is an Austrian international who plays for HamKam (Hamar Kameratene FK) in Norway.
They are bottom of the league and he hasn't scored a single goal all season.

He's a target man type striker. Doesn't score very many goals but is a big physical presence when he can be bothered to put any effort in.
In the top division in Norway he just can not score.
HamKam were relegated 2006 - he scored only 3 goals that season, and in 2007 he did score approx 20 goals in the "adecco league" which is basicly div 2.

Just to sum it up, this guy is not good enough for the Norwegian top division but seems to do allright in the Norwegian div 2 which is a pretty awful standard of football.
I think he's very lazy.

15.12.2006 he was also suspended for three matches by the Norwegian FA, for racially abusing an opponent, Daniel Nannskog.
According to Nannskog, Kienast called him "fcuking monkey", "you fcuking monkey" and "fcuking n*gger"...

The club have just received plaudits for their anti-racism stance and they are thinking of signing this bloke???

As for other signings, I would reckon a couple within the next few days covering our existing gaps i.e. left back (only Shorey's body still has to leave RFC) and a right sided midfielder/winger. I also suspect the club will return to relatively safe hunting fields of players with experience at this level in the English game.

I agree. I expect Coppell is going to get English players (or players with English league experience) for the now. I really do think we have a chance of getting back up - even with the inevitable losses to our squad...

i reckon well see movement out within the week
maybe with players + cash in return so that may be our first player coming the other way
as soon as that money has been released i can see us speeding up on the players/clubs we have already approached

pre season is important yes

but i believe we had some late signings for the championship season, and that worked out ok

youll be surprised to hear that im still optimistic

Anyone else reckon we'll make our signing as about 6pm on 31st August? Odds on it'll be a keeper.

No signings for about another 10 days when all is looking lost we will get

'sign up for Reading FC text service to find out the latest transfer news'

Nick Ive will then print that Reading are close to their first summer signing

and then *drum roll*

BREAKING NEWS

Reading agree fee for Brentford captain Kevin O'Connor, about £40,000.

Press conference, shirt display, 'Outlines the ambition' etc

Followed by a sigh measuring about 6 on the RIchter scale.

Was Kienaast the blonde Austrian sub who went on amazing dribbles but sometimes forgot to take the ball with him?

He was hilarious. Can we buy him?

Actually Waitrose don't. They pay extra and strive to provide their customers with the highest quality. So I hope it is a match made in heaven and RFC follow their lead.

Of course, a far better partnership would have been with Lidl or Aldi. That would have enabled the club to source very high quality (but unknown to us Brits) players from the continent at bargain prices!!

New signings? Reading Footbal Club? Are you all mad? Don't you know there's a financial crisis out there? We need to save the cash for the grim days ahead. Well, perhaps a couple of youngsters from Drogheda United.
