Well, I can see us finishing top two, but I guess it depends a little on what happens in the transfer market.
If we don't sign a defensive midfielder I don't see us progressing, and I think it's quite strange that we haven't already.

You gotta remember he joined us from an average team in the Czech that had a capacity of 5,000 - so playing infront of 15,000+ in the Championship wont bother him unlike others who believe they are Premiership footballers!

Being from Czech republic and being a fan of his former club, I can say the average number of visitors to Mlada Boleslav club is only around 2-3k per match. When we played with Villareal there was not more then 4k people. Our stadium gets rarely sold out. So for him to play in the front of 15k people its still very great.

Matejosvky last year when he came in became the linchpin for us. We even changed our kick off plans to pass it back to him than pass it back to Shoreey who lumped it out of play.

I think the point was that being more used to playing in front of crowds of 4,000, he won't consider playing in front of 15,000 as a step down, unlike some more established players who's heads might still be in the Premier.

Yep, I'd go along with that.

Get rid of Gunarsson, replace him with a true first team midfield general and then use Karacan as the cover that Gunarsson would provide if he is here and ever fit again.

That would leave Matejovsky and Harper (or his replacement as and when he's sold)competing to play alongside A.N.Other/Cisse with Karacan adding a bit of depth.

I can't say I disagree much about Gunnarsson. Good player, but I think maybe we've gone as far together as we can. With Bikey and Ingimarsson able to add emergency midfield cover, plus Karacan and Cisse I think he is rather surplus to requirements. Shame. He had a habit of popping up with important goals.
