Absolutely gutted - if there's someone i dint wanna lose it would be kits. I think hes being slightly naive btw.

Coppell better get someone in to replace him - if he don't them i will lose all faith i have.

good luck to the lad he has given his all to the royals and fully deserves his chance to stay in the Premiership, well done Kits I thank you for all you done for the Royals, and I am sure we will always have you in our hearst at the Mad Stad, I am surprised that he has gone for as much as he has but it is good business.................................and all the cynical jibes apart i hope we are going to look for a "suitable" replacement and not a £50,000 "one for the future"

Ok, I am officially depressed now.

One lie after another throughout last season when it came to transfer dealings (We will strengthen in the summer, we will strengthen in January etc etc) and now we are told 'don't worry Kitson has a cold, he will play on Saturday', when he's finalising a move to Stoke and the club knew full well he was. Don't expect the club will get 5 million upfront either, probably a load of add ons that could make it 5 million but transfer will be undisclosed.

Of all the players linked with moves away, Kitson was the only one I really wanted the club to keep - our only genuine Premiership class player. As mentioned elsewhere, Morrison could well be his replacement

I would like to say that this could be the start of some serious transfer activity with players coming in, but I doubt it. Well at least we have Shane LOLong.....

Given that we had to pay a further instalment on promotion to the PL, and that it's pretty standard to have a sell-on clause (Orient will get one when Shorey goes), I'd be very surprised if we didn't.

Once again the club play the fans for idiots. Ok, the majority are, but still.

It's not on the website (SSN or the OS).

We should have demanded £8m, considering what Zamora/Paintsil, Chopra and Nugent when for. Kitson is better and more proven than all of them.

£5 million does make more sense. We'd be unlikely to get any more, and Stoke do have a bit extra after pulling out of the Carson deal. Add to that today's comments from Dillon about not standing in anybody's way if they want to leave and it looks likely. I just hope the fee isn't £2 million + up to £3 million in add-ons.

I also hope we use the bulk of the money to strengthen the team. We should be looking at upgrades over existing 1st team players with that sort of cash, not more to just add to the squad.

Of course, nothing has happened yet, but I get the feeling that this is more likely than most.

given the complete incompetence of the Cambridge board at the time, I wouldn't be certain.
